ACC season is upon us and our first matchup has us against the hated Boston college (at least for me) we are currently a 17.5 point favorite with a tip time of 4 on ACCN.

BC is 5-3 and haven’t played anyone of note. They are coached by Earl Grant who’s official title is “The Clement and Elizabeth Izzi Family Head Men’s Basketball Coach”
Coach Grant is in his 2nd year as coach of BC and was formerly at the College of Charleston where he had a fair amount of success. Coach also spent time as an assistant coach at Clemson.



This game shouldn’t be difficult but we have a tendency to lay a couple eggs a year against conference teams that have no business playing with us.. however this game doesn’t have that feel at least not yet.

Just a quirky note I thought was funny/crazy.

Sorry for being a few days late with the poll. I have been working so hard that I keep forgetting to post the thing—anyway, a good bounce-back game for our good guys in dark blue. Lively might be starting to turn a corner, and that's exciting! Proctor is finding a groove. This team has a lot of upside, and I am excited.

The CFP is expanding to a 12 Team format in 24-25. Do we think that we will see conferences expanding to a possible 4 team playoff format for their Championship games? Is that even doable?

Duke again shot the rock quite poorly from three vs Purdue. I saw a quote from Jon: Proctor's shots "were close but didn't go in." We'll that's an encouraging quote, but despite Jon's quote, Proctor doesn't impress me as the answer from outside.

Jeremy is an excellent mid-range two pt shooter, but is somewhat inconsistent on 3s. Flip throws in a few, but don't expect him to be Laettner out there.

I am hopeful Whitehead emerges from deep with more PT, wait and see approach there. I still think Schutt deserves an extended shot over Blakes. I realize Blakes D is better, but is he really giving us much else??? Said it before, and will say it again- give Schutt a legit shot, and see if he can throw it in the ocean. Certainly we can hide him in our "12" defense, basically the Boeheim 2-3 zone. Rant over, have at it.

Another big game for the young devils featuring two top 25 teams. Duke is currently a 5.5 point favorite going into the game.

This game will be on ESPN with a 715 tip and appears to be our LAST ACC/Big10 challenge game

Ohio state comes in with 1 lose on the year to SDST and a good win against TTU. They are coached by Chris Holtmann, who prior to OSU was at Butler and Gardner Webb.

Another game in Cameron against what should be an inferior opponent. We current sit as a 24 pt favorite for this 830 tip on ACCN. The bellarmine knights have played two ACC opponents on the season, one against Lville which ended in a win (how’s that move working out Nolan??) and one was an L to Clemson.

The knights are coached by Scott Davenport with an impressive 398-130 coaching record, although most of that was the D2 level. Last year was the schools 2nd in D1 and posted a 20 win season. Scott is a Louisville native(where the school is located) and this is his only college job. Before being a knight he was a boys high school coach winning one state championship

Genuinely curious. Zags couldn’t figure it out and Purdue seems unstoppable. Intent is not to bash the coaching staff but just for fun.

Make it interesting - you’re going into halftime 46-35. Only caveat…you have to explain what you would do offensively and defensively in the 2nd half (Lively has 3 fouls, Flip 2, Young 2).

Example: Flip at the 5 and make Edey wear down with movement and play straight up on D trying to shut everyone else down.

As a poster.. this should be fun.. 1* to 5*


Pisgah101- 5* all the way, star recruit. Probably top 5 in his class. age and experience are the big bonus of this player. Has been around since Dec 2005 and might possibly be the oldest player of the group now.. took a redshirt year after being completely burned out of sports as a whole but been back for almost a year and ready to go. Can be quite cocky but doesnt ever mean anything too serious. Doesn’t take kindly to being called out, especially on something he didn’t do.. has made amazing friends from the board and would go to bat for them even if to didn’t agree LOL. Great team player

330 on ABC duke currently sits as a 1.5 point favorite to finish up in Portland

This one has the feels of an elite eight game with the two day turn around from a good Xavier team. Purdue has played a solid schedule with their only close game coming against Marquette. They are coached by one of the better coaches in America in Matt Painter, who could also double as any preacher from any movie you’ve ever seen. He has an overall record of 409-197 and is one of only three schools to have made it to 4 of the last 5 sweet 16s. Matt played ball at Purdue and didn’t waste time going into coaching as soon as his playing career was over.

Purdue is led by a giant in 7’4 and it’ll be fun seeing how Jon rotates our bigs to attempt to contain him..

Xavier could in all actuality be our best competitor to date after seeing Kansas play such uninspiring ball this week. With their lone L coming against a very good Indiana team these guys can play ball

The musketeers are coached by Sean Miller in stop number two. He formally coached Xavier for 5 years from 04-09 before leaving for Arizona. His overall record is 422-156 in 17 seasons with 11 ncaa appearances with 4 elite eights. He is from Beaver Falls PA originally and that just sounded like a nice place so I added that in here.

Unfortunately after the Oregon St game I dont see a win here-

The lights get brighter again as Duke heads to the west coast for the start of the Phil Knight Legacy tournament in Portland. Last time we were on the west coast we kicked @$$ so let’s do it again! Duke plays at 3est and is currently a 21.5 favorite.

Oregon St which is only known for having a former head coach that was michelle Obama’s brother.. comes in at 3-1 already matching last years win total of 3 games(brutal) they are coached by Wayne Tinkle(real last name) who has been there since 2014 and has a record of 116-137 at the school. Before coaching the beavers he was the head coach at Montana.

Duke shouldn’t have a problem with this one but the time difference and travel could play into it
