Davis is having a bad year as teams are double teaming him. Plus Washington has not improved like they hoped.

I hear that he is a really good Christian dude and an amazing person off the court....but you are right. He never shuts his mouth.
Of course they have no big man, and it's unusual for the holes to get beat on the boards. He's got too many guys that look like NC State players too. Athletic, but little basketball IQ.
They're also small with Davis and Cadeau, and it hurts even more that Cadeau can't shoot. Which puts more on Davis.
But their biggest issue in my opinion, is I think they are losing in the NIL money part. Is that on Hubert or the university?

It's hard to tell if NIL is the problem because some on their board say UNC has the money but won't get in bidding wars, then some say it is a problem. I also think they didn't do a good job at evaluating the talent and where to spend the money. Cade Tyson apparently got around $700k in NIL and has been a bust.
It's been funny to watch, but I think RJ Davis coming back hurt them. He's playing poorly and probably got a nice chunk of change in NIL, which could have been used on another portal player. I did see that when they hired Belichick there was a large amount of NIL money promised, so hopefully the money goes to football and non for basketball.
What's interesting, they would be a .500% team if they didn't storm back to beat Dayton.
Exactly. They got hot at the right time and snuck into the tournament. They’re not going to catch lightning in a bottle twice. One poster hat THR had a picture of a dumpster on fire. Others said it was the post of the year!

I don't have time to watch a ton of games outside of Duke, and even those, many times I can't watch live, but from what I have seen, all this talk about the ACC being weak this year is dead on. It will be interesting to see the SMU game.

I think Clemson has a chance. I thought Wake was going to be better than what they’ve shown.
I don't believe so since Clemson/UNC are still rated better than SMU, and Pitt but we don't go there.
I believe @ SMU, @ Clemson, @ UNC will all be quad 1 games.
If UNC turns things around, the home UNC game could be one too, along with home Pitt, but unlikely.
@ Wake and @ Syracuse has an outside chance to be Quad 1 also, but unlikely.
It's still early, but Louisville may be a surprise. All 5 of their losses have been to ranked teams.

hopefully the energy from Notre Dame's playoff win against Georgia last night carries over to the Fighting Irish Men's Basketball team when they host the cheats tomorrow afternoon. The cheats could use another 8-11 losses on their resume.
at this point unc should just hire Doug Gottlieb to lead the tar heels men's basketball program

If Seth Trimble is out again, I can see them having a tough game on the road. It would be a great Saturday with a Duke win, a UNC and Kentucky loss.
It’s almost reverse if you think back to when Duke couldn’t get a big man but had a surplus of guards .
IMO, they aren’t getting in the tourney but I don’t think they get rid of Davis. As football is king in sports we could be looking at the overall effect of putting more money into your football NIL . That and I believe Davis coming back has created an issue with all the guards .
