No specific examples. That's fine. There's going to be curbs and they could be less reactionary. I will give you that. But there's also the fact that they have uncovered massive waste and/or fraud that the left brushes off because they think that everything they are doing is reckless and thoughtless.

What is your vision for what Trump should do to heal division? Outside of creating a prosperous environment for anyone who puts in the effort, what can he do that would be for all Americans?
How about SCOTUS's decision just today sustaining a lower court's block on withholding $2 billion in foreign aid? Is that a good enough example?
Everything they are doing IS reckless and thoughtless. They're trying to win the news cycle. They want sensational headlines. Every Musk tweet announcing cuts is distorted propaganda.

The rhetoric. Let's start with the rhetoric. There's a dopey education saying: "Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." It's cheesy, but there's some truth to it, and our President would be wise to try it.

No. Not good enough. Because I can acknowledge that they could be less reactionary, but you can't acknowledge that there is anything positive that they are doing. It's fine, we don't have to find ground here.

That's not a vision, that's rhetoric. You don't want to give Trump any credit for having an ounce of decency, so you won't allow yourself to see that he is showing how much he cares. He should be off in paradise with his family enjoying the wind down era of his life. But he cares so much about his vision for the country that he takes your ridicule and all of the "rhetoric" that you care about from the left. Even survives two legitimate attempts on his life and the failed attempts by the left to put him in prison for what would essentially be for the rest of his life if the demented fools had it their way. Whether you choose to believe him or accept that what he does is for the good of other people, not himself. He clearly shows that he cares about people.

Looking into government waste and efficient spending is a great idea. Doing it in a reckless, reactionary, partisan way isn't the right way. Musk is targeting departments that have investigated/are investigating his companies.

That's a great piece of fan-fiction in favor of your king (my President, your king). He's an egomaniac and narcissist. Everything he does is about bringing glory and attention to himself.

That's pretty serious revisionist history. President Obama worked hard to bridge gaps. Sen McConnell said his #1 goal was to make him a 1-term President. His #1 goal. President Biden offered all kinds of conciliatory messages to conservatives. You didn't listen. You deliberately twisted their words. President Trump is the most divisive President in modern history.

The DoJ was not weaponized against President Trump. His 2 impeachments were completely legit; he lost 2020 fair & square; he is a convicted felon because he committed felonies; he should have and would have been prosecuted and convicted for withholding classified documents but SCOTUS and a Fla judge he appointed helped him out. Robert Mueller, Merrick Garland, and Jack Smith were very by the book. I think they were too cautious. I wish they'd been more aggressive.
In a cbs news article Trump was named the most divisive Pres in hx, Obama the 12th most. Did I mention that this was CBS News?
From Beergate to the Michael Brown hoax, Obama never met a racial scam he didn’t like.
From siccing the IRS on conservatives to the formation of BLM, his time in office would shake the public’s faith in our institutions to the core.

Yeah, that was a bad move. GREAT mileage for y'all, though. You won't have to refuel your jowls for years.
You thrive on being an online prick don’t you. I’m sure you’re the teacher that all the students make fun of. At least this is message board helps your mental health.

He held the Beer Summit to make up for off-the-cuff remarks. He encouraged faith in our courts after both the George ZImmerman acquittal and the grand jury's decision not to indict in Ferguson. Republican FBI Director James Comey found no evidence warranting charges in the IRS situation. He had nothing to do with the creation of BLM.

Is it possible that a Black person might be more attuned to racism, more troubled by racism, and more empathetic to people who feel they've been victims of racism? I remember when y'all lost your minds when he said if he'd had a son he would have looked like Trayvon Martin.

I'm not going to come after a former fellow educator for anything related to his career, so you get all the free shots you want there.

Yeah, he is. I just read the love letter you wrote him.
I do like it when he ends his social media posts with "long live the king". It really gets you weak minded lunatics all in a frenzy. It just makes you want to go record yourself melting down, crying while cutting your hair and then post it on reddit as if it makes your life better to put your emotions out there for other looney libs to see.

The BLM movement started on his watch. He encouraged the hoax and did nothing to quell the rioting. Trump’s blamed for everything on his watch. What’s good for the goose…
You say he encouraged faith in our courts but later he said his son would have looked like Trayvon. Talk out of both sides of his mouth much?
He stirred the fires of racial grievance which led directly to the founding of BLM. His name may not have been on the paperwork, but his fingerprints are all over it.
As for the last paragraph, he’s not Black in the traditional sense of the word. White mother, raised by white grandparents.
Benefitted from identifying as Black when applying to law school and getting on the Law Review but never experienced systemic racism to my knowledge. Benefitted from it every step of the way so nah I don’t think he can relate.

You don’t understand how President Obama held the dual ideas of faith in our courts and empathy for the parents of a dead child?

President Obama’s only public statements about Michael Brown and Ferguson were to call for peace during the rioting.

#metoo started on President Trump’s watch. Is that to his credit or blame? The Tea Party started under President Obama. Is that his responsibility, as well? That’s stupid.

Ah, yeah, white guy disqualifying Obama’s blackness. Classic 🤣

He’s been gone 8 years and he’s still living rent-free in your head.

Rent free? You opened that door by begging for Trump to be therapist in chief, implying that other recent Pres have done anything but further divide this nation by pol party and race

This is an emotional reaction to cutting a percentage of funding. Do you think that every dollar given to the institutions is used for research and zero goes to waste? You didn't respond to my question about itemized receipts.
Yes...it makes sense that money given needs to be accounted for...what types of waste incurs with research?

That’s cute how you picked up on the line @GhostOf301 used about President Trump as a therapist. Did you plan that or are y’all just that well trained to repeat buzzwords when you see them?

How am I to know? They recently said that less than 10% of money from federal grants actually goes towards study or treatments. So where does the rest of the money go? These people aren't living in single wide trailers and driving Pintos.

Also, turns out the majority of money comes from the private sector with these institutions.

The American Cancer Society is by far ahead of any government led institution and they receive very little government money.

So tell me again how the proposed 15% cut in federal funding equals canceling funding for child cancer research.

I asked if Trump was supposed to coddle the emotional nut jobs in order to heal division. Which I have said that way too many times today. What does heal division even mean. Anyway. I don't think it's really that hard to conclude that what you are wanting from whoever the president is for them to address feelings and express empathy. Like a therapist. When most people want a strong and forceful leader as CIC.

Hey, does this one count, @GhostOf301 ? Hmm? Does it? Does it count?

Where did that 10% come from? ...who is they?...and that's crazy to think 1 million given to research and only $100,000 makes it to the research...just read that childhood cancer accounts for about 4% of all federal funds, yet pediatric cancers are the leading cause of death for children and young adults under 20...i believe that 15% that you speak of is the cap that had been reduced from 27-28%...and yes some of that money goes to the facilities, equipment, maintenance, administration, and staff to do the trials and research...said to save the government $4Billion...that seems to be alot that won't be able to be done to continue focuses on childhood cancer, survivorship, and equitable care

A few examples

I was referring to childhood cancer research , but yeah some of those seem odd, but the research does or has hopes to produce answers because of the research.....when do you think Doge will investigate the billions that go to musk contracts for waste, fraud , and abuse?

Such as? SpaceX govt contracts? That has saved NASA $40-50B. The waste DOGE uncovered vs the contracts won for services rendered are not remotely the same unless you use a political lens, and then logic fails with the comparison
