Too much to quote all of it but I suggest ya check out the Twitter account @RCCPMD. Ten years in Compliance at a P5 school. Some lively back and forth today regarding the scandal....

Ran across this. Sounds cool...

Wufwuf1 ‏@Wufwuf1

@RCCPMD @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious @DevilDJ32 @CheatingBlueRam Agreed. UNC's reply in August was delayed to address more self-reports.

RCCPMD ‏@RCCPMD

@Wufwuf1 @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious @DevilDJ32 @CheatingBlueRam there is NO way it takes 7 months to process routine issues. Has to be big

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@RCCPMD @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious You arent suggesting the issue is more than additional "improper academic assistance" for WBB? #CrazyTalk

RCCPMD ‏@RCCPMD

@CheatingBlueRam @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious I assume you are being facetious?

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@RCCPMD @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious Absolutely being facetious. Insane to believe 7 months later the NCAA says "oops, we were wrong 1st time"

RCCPMD ‏@RCCPMD

@CheatingBlueRam @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious Concur. Likely relates to doc review & further evidence courses don't count for NCAA PTD rules

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@RCCPMD @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious RE the docs, UNC has promised the release of all 5 million. One thousand eyes waiting to parse them.

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@CheatingBlueRam @RCCPMD @yibyabby And one brand new search engine is almost ready for the new UNC documents.

What the NCAA will do with UNC, Louisville tops among storylines for 2016-17 season

Investigation status

What will next season look like off the court for North Carolina and Louisville? Still no word from the NCAA, but in anticipation, the Cardinals introduced a new round of self-imposed sanctions. UNC coach Roy Williams said during the Final Four that he didn't think the men's basketball program would be penalized. Both programs should receive notification from the NCAA soon, which could have an impact on next season, when both are potential preseason top-10 teams.

A couple things I take away from this...

1. These kids are ready for enrollment at UNC. After all, they can already read and write on the same level as most players on the team.

2. I wonder if this school is a feeder school which allows kids to earn credit toward a college degree in Art and English.

3. UNC can take the letters and form a runner-up banner to hang in the rafters.

This kinda stuff is really damning for unx. The NCAA is often loathe to involve themselves in determinations of academic rigor in individual courses because they prefer to leave such evaluations to the school itself. IOW , if the school doesn't call it "academic fraud" then the NCAA won't either. Unfortunately , unx HAS called it "academic fraud" just not to the NCAA. They did it to SACS...

CflN2kHVAAETWZD.jpg

Anyway , the NCAA gets VERY interested when it finds out that the school has violated its own policies regarding such courses. Not to put to fine a point on it but unx has , well , violated its own policies....

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@RCCPMD @yibyabby @BlueDevilicious My interpretation, NCAA doesn't care about the quality of the class. They care the athlete took too many.

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@CheatingBlueRam @RCCPMD @yibyabby Correct. Issue is # of classes, improper assistance, unethical conduct (Boxill, others).

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD @yibyabby If an Ind Stdy class requires a contract with the professor & no contract exists, is the class valid? Likewise, if class requires WRITTEN permission from the Dean & no permission exists, is the class valid?

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@CheatingBlueRam @BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD Prior to the IS Task Force Report recommendation in 2012, did a contract policy exist at UNC?

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@yibyabby @CheatingBlueRam @RCCPMD Yes. Policy goes back to 1991-1992. See excerpt from 1997 UGB attached.

CfnFSJNUsAExM8l.jpg

RCCPMD ‏@RCCPMD

@BlueDevilicious @yibyabby @CheatingBlueRam if this policy is indeed accurate, 1993 and 2005 banners are in serious jeopardy. No question.

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@RCCPMD @BlueDevilicious @yibyabby It all began with Burgess McSwaim.

I told myself I wasn't gonna do it but I finally broke down and relinquished. I read Art Chansky's take on the Nova/unx game. I was quickly reminded WHY I fought the urge to give 'im a "click" in the first place. Art whines about the officiating , is unrepentant about egregious cheating and STILL believes in the bs "carolina way." He's a perfect example of why abc'ers exist. "Just win baby an' screw the haters..."

While a wholly uniformed national media stayed on the NCAA scandal story and pounced on the sometimes-too-candid Roy Williams, UNC fans poured into Houston to underscore they don’t give a damn what the NCAA says when it gets around to saying it. This is an athletic program that has flourished in the face of institutional inertia, winning football and basketball championships and continuing as the highest-ranked Olympic sports program in the country.

Good Lord. Paragraph 3. The academic counselors for athletes DID know. Game over...

unx has its share of "sock puppets" trolling the net in an effort to combat the negative PR while also attempting to control the narrative. Like most such efforts , those chosen fail miserably. This one , "NinjaHeel" , is committed to the cause. He's bat-sheet crazy too but , as I said , committed to the cause. He's also an excellent example of why it's pointless to debate this subject with a hole fan...

"Nada?!" Nuthin!?' Pure as the driven snow?! Innocent?! WTF?! When "nada" is their starting point , it's useless even trying to talk to those dolts.

So how reliable a source is this in saying that wins will be vacated and banners will come down? I'm not being contrary, just trying to understand the nature of the source.

And does BlueDevilicious = our Devilicious? Sorry, just trying to understand this stuff.

I think he is anonymous, but he ties things together and explains a lot of things in a way that makes sense of a lot of things I didn't fully understand--such as why the NCAA relied on impermissible benefits rather than academic fraud in its charges. His tweets evidence a great depth of understanding of the legalities and process.

I don't think he could be BS'ing his way through this, and I don't really care who he is, as my confidence in his conclusions is based on the persuasiveness of his explanations and arguments; and I don't think the NCAA can escape taking down the banners if these conclusions are correct, plus their tactics throughout this process (now that I better understand them) and the way they framed the allegations are entirely consistent with the notion that they are getting ready to drop the hammer to a degree perhaps not seen since SMU; and that hammer will drop squarely on men's and women's basketball and football.

I'm taking a shot in the dark here and gonna say that they are one in the same. Just following him on Twitter and reason his stuff here...the verbiage is the same. I know a lot of his stuff is cut and paste but in pretty sure I've seen him post other stuff too. Anyways, if all this is true, I may have to call the HelpLine for a friend of mine who is a HUGE unx fan.

Still being told it is over before the end of this term.

I was told that the deal is done. It will include the new allegations so there is ends the saga. That is why there is no hurry for a new NOA.

Take it for what it is worth. The punishment will be harsh.

Again I am just passing along what I am hearing.

No death penalty. Severe is the word I was told.

I do not think there will be a second NOA. The addition violation will be bundled with the original allegations. I think all the post NOA information force UNC into a corner.

They probably got what they needed to cover the other litigation needs.

They do not want a bunch of litigation. Not from the schools because they are voluntary members of the NCAA.

Their exposure is being litigated by student athletes.

Thanks for the information guys. It's really good stuff. I hope they get hammered.

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

Any ex. of a NOA that's not a litany of all infractions ultimately cited in final report? @RCCPMD @bluedevilicious

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@yibyabby @RCCPMD Keep in mind that NCAA can levy penalties even without Notice of Allegations if school admits. http://www.ncaa.org/enforcement/enforcement-process-charging

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD I know, but I don't think UNC is admitting fraud to the NCAA. I'd love to see the NOA in Memphis case. Found Memphis response to NOA; appears NCAA did cite ETS invalidation of SAT score in NOA, but UM never conceded.

UNC Meme ‏@UNCMeme

@yibyabby @BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD That's the difference. Memphis/Rose never conceded that there was fraud. UNC/SACS have conceded fraud

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@UNCMeme @yibyabby @RCCPMD Correct. Once institution admits that the infraction occurred, there's no reason to allege that it occurred.

UNC Meme ‏@UNCMeme

@BlueDevilicious @yibyabby @RCCPMD ETS never concluded 100% that fraud occurred. Likely? Oh yes.

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@UNCMeme @BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD No, but they invalidated the score. NCAA relied on that. Didn't need Memphis concession. SACS same way.

UNC Meme ‏@UNCMeme

@yibyabby @BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD Had SAC officially determined fraud when NOA was released?

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@UNCMeme @BlueDevilicious @RCCPMD No; but it's official now, prior to NOA revision. If not included, I can't see NCAA pursuing fraud.

UNC Meme ‏@UNCMeme

@yibyabby Academic fraud is more open to appeal by UNC...despite SACS stance. Curious to see if NCAA sticks only w/ more sure-fire I.S.

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@UNCMeme NCAA can allege & let COI decide if allegation not demonstrated or make UNC appeal. If not alleged, never gets out of the gate

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@yibyabby @UNCMeme Except that's not what the rules actually say, Bob.

CfyyFDkUkAAYVc4.jpg

B. Martin ‏@yibyaby

@BlueDevilicious @UNCMeme Well, hey now. Let me look at that for a bit.

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@yibyabby @UNCMeme Here's the document header.

CfyzOmWUsAIUCJs.jpg

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@BlueDevilicious OK, that pretty much answers my challenge. Still, sounds like it addresses something coming up after NOA released. Of not alleged in revision, I predict it indicates NCAA not pursuing it.

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@yibyabby I cannot argue against a prediction. You may be right, but NCAA has given itself every opportunity for COI to address it.

Ninja Heel ‏@NinjaTarHeel

@BlueDevilicious @yibyabby And have passed at every opportunity since meeting with Julius in Aug '11. Why pondering a change now?

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@NinjaTarHeel Ted & I aren't aligned. I think that if the NOA is revised and academic fraud is not added, it means COI won't consider it but, my answer is that assessing scandal as fraud wasn't in NCAA's "wheelhouse". At time of NOA, SACS hadn't ruled. But now, NCAA can defer to SACS where academic eval IS in its wheelhouse, & can add to new NOA. Might not, but could. And, oh yeah, NCAA never met with Julius anyway, did they? JN's non-cooperation one of the allegations.

UNC Meme ‏@UNCMeme

@BlueDevilicious @yibyabby you just ruined the day of a lot of UNC fans

Ted Tatos ‏@BlueDevilicious

@UNCMeme @yibyabby Not concerned w/ UNC fans. I just hope the good UNC academics does is not interred with the bones of their athletic dept.

Just to clarify my comment. What I've heard regarding NCAA issues from some UNC athletics sources is that the NCAA response is expected within two weeks. And that was a few days ago, so my expectation is end of next week. But keep in mind, this are UNC sources so.....

Whether UNC will release it when they receive it is another story.

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

"Once an individual is identified as a [booster] the person retains that identity forever." http://www.ncaa.org/enforcement/role-boosters … Booster includes anyone who has "Assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student athletes." http://www.ncaa.org/enforcement/role-boosters

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@yibyabby Great minds think alike. From March 16 ..."If classified as boosters and fake grades were the currency, how is that any different than cash exchanging hands?"

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@CheatingBlueRam Ever since Bradley started in with "not an athletics-driven scandal" I've been wanting to get into this.

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@yibyabby "Debby called in sick after loses." Booster?

B. Martin ‏@yibyabby

@CheatingBlueRam "Calling in sick after loss" reveals her fan motives. Delivering academic benefits made her a booster.

Cheating Blue Ram ‏@CheatingBlueRam

@yibyabby Bingo. You have to wonder what influence her "life partner," former player Warren Martin, had on the motive.

Just curious with what Andrew Carter tweeted if it has anything to do with the punishment that may be handed down by NCAA?

The thought crossed my mind. I'll say this. If it IS scandal-related , it'll have to be blatantly obvious before Carter will acknowledge it. He's a State alum but unx is his gig and he's a bought-n-paid-for hole now.

5+ years ago baseball , men's basketball , women's basketball , women's soccer , men's soccer , football and maybe even Track make this list. Oh...and unx would trumpet it while claiming to be the perfect mix of academics and athletics. The carolina way. The whole nine. Sickening. Now? Without the egregious fraud and cheating , the revenue sports are nowhere to be found. Heck , without the ladies unx would have even less representation. Fifth place?! In mostly women's sports?! Sports no one cares about anyway? No way unx accepts that position. Well , now they have no choice....

Seven UNC Teams Receive Academic Honors

Seven athletic programs at UNC are being honored by the NCAA for placing in the top 10 percent nationally in Academic Progress Rates in their respective sports.

Those teams include women’s fencing, women’s golf, gymnastics, men’s swimming and diving, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and volleyball.

B-Rad goin' to the well...again...

Dear Supporters,

This update may get more personal than any of my previous updates.

Many of you contributed to Unverified because you wanted a counter-narrative to the sensationalized narrative of athletics corruption propagated in the media. Though not in the way many expected, the film no doubt accomplished that. As we travel with the film to festivals, we are showing people the story behind the headlines and effectively challenging people's beliefs about the paper-class scandal. I'm especially eager to show the film at the University of North Georgia next week. I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA issues their NOA next week, too, and I am hopeful the NCAA will come to fair conclusions.

Nonetheless, for the film's message to reach the audience we all want it to reach, we have to make it available to rent and buy online, and we have to screen it in more theaters. We plan to do that, but we have an obstacle in the way.

When we began production, we budgeted enough money to pay me the same monthly salary I made at UNC. However, we were only planning on a six-month production. Therefore, since August, I haven't been paid anything from the film. Not a single penny. All the remaining funds have been used for equipment and to pay cinematographers, editors, sound mixers, color engineers, lawyers, theater rentals, etc. Since August, I have been depleting my saving to continue working on the film. Making the situation even more challenging is that my first child was born a few months ago.

The obstacle we now face is that we are $6,500 short of what we need to cover the legal and insurance fees necessary to make the film available to the public. We have a distributor to screen the film in theaters, and we have a platform to make the film available online, but they won't accept the film unless we pay these legal and insurance fees. As I mentioned, I have already depleted everything I have and am now in debt.

$6,500. That doesn't seem like much, but in my situation, after how much I've already put into this, it is insurmountable for me alone. And so I need your help one more time.

If we can raise this $6,500, we can start making the film available for pre-order late next month, and we can then release it soon thereafter. And I will then continue to use the film to challenge the news media's sensationalized narrative, accomplishing what many of you hoped the film would accomplish.

The fastest way to help is to make a contribution through PayPal. Simply set up an account or log in with the one you already have, then choose "I'm paying for goods or services," and enter "UnverifiedTheFilm@gmail.com" into the box.

If you would prefer to write a check, you can make it out to Verified Films, LLC and mail it to Verified Films, LLC / PO Box 1221 / Carrboro, NC 27510. (Yes, the film itself is calledUnverified, but the LLC I started is called Verified Films.)

Thanks for all your support. I'm confident we'll get the funds we need, and I will share with you when we do and how we continue from there. Again, I'm also hopeful the NCAA investigation will conclude fairly, and I look forward to participating in discussions about that soon.

Sincerely,

Bradley Bethel

"Director's Talk?" "A Filmmaker's Responsibility?" The guy helped morons in COLLEGE learn to read. Now he sells shoes. He's broke. He made a glorified after-school project and the ONLY reason he was able to make it was due to the financial backing of bigger idiots than him.Now he's giving self-important Q & A's on what? His wide-range of filmmaking experiences? The importance of responsibility and truth during his process? How ironic. B-Rad opines on two elements in scant supply at unx..."responsibility" and "truth."

He should just go to Roy for the $$....Better yet Wayne, or Jan, or Dickie, or John Blake,etc...Yeah, they are sitting on HUGE amounts of $$ not to talk!!!
