Other ACC Basketball 19-20

Bad practice habits will come back to bite you for sure,

Playtex free throws?

19 out of 56 and 3 out of 24. Wow
Even unc Maye could have beat them with the Ville shooting it like that. That’s an UGLY night of shooting

ESPN doesn't have anything on the front page about the #5 ranked team losing last night. I suppose there were not any egregious elbows that never landed or media created controversy in the GT vs. Ville contest.

First of all, there is no such thing as an acc regular season title. Second, tiebreakers are simply to determine seeding.

The ACC says teams may recognize a season title now and they do consider acc season champs for NCAA tourney seeding so it kinda is a thing...

Could see Louisville losing at Clemson on Saturday. How awesome would that be???? Plus, Louisville still has to visit FSU.

I think what he is referring to is the ACC Tournament Champion is recognized as the Champion period. The regular season 1st place winner can hang a banner saying regular season champion, but the true champ is the tournament winner.
1st place/ regular season champ, whatever helps people sleep at night has absolutely no bearing on NCAA tournament seeding, but conference tournament seeding.
The ACC is unique because they don't recognize a regular season champ. If things have changed, which I don't think so, then I stand corrected.

GT and Pitt might be a handful next season

Pitt for sure. I think the Jackets, IIRC, have quite a few older guys.

Pastner hasn't recruited as well as I thought he would at Tech. I always thought they'd be a team with a little more talent, but might get held back because Pastner is just a mediocre coach.

Pitt will be, but I think Ga. Tech is losing most of their guys next year. Isn’t Banks, Alvorado, and Devoe all seniors? Also, they will be losing Bubba Parhm
Possibly so, I havent really looked at their roster

Just looked at their roster, they only have 3 seniors and Alverado is a junior

But they have those cool signs calling out the defenses

When we won it all in 2010 we were awarded a regular season co champions trophy which was different than the tourney one we received.

Agree that the ACC tourney champ is the true ACC champion (they make that clear), however the conference regular season champ can be recognized (and I think there is a trophy).

Now, to your comment about no bearing on NCAA tourney, that is absolutely NOT true. When they start interviewing the committee after seeding releases, I have heard numerous times "they were rated a 1 or 2 seed because they won the regular season title in a grueling ACC" blah blah blah. There is no standard formula, but it matters as teams are being judged.

You are absolutely right on that part. What I was trying to say didn't come out right. Of course if you have a first place conference record, then most likely you are ranked pretty high nationally which has a lot of impact on seeding right off the jump.

Take for instance the 2016-17 year, Duke finished the regular season in 5th place while the cheats finished first. They got a number 1 seed. Duke by winning the conference tournament, ended up being a 2 seed even though they finished fifth in the regular season at 11-7 and 28-9 overall. I think they went into the ACC tournament ranked 14th nationally. After winning the tournament, I think that got them a 2 seed.

I think we both are saying the same thing in a sense. If by some miracle the cheats repeat what Duke done that year, then they will automatically make the tournament regardless of being next to last place in the regular season and will be the Official ACC Champs. Lawd I pray that don't happen. But any who, I'm getting back on thread topic before I get fussed at lol.

Not acc, but big blew nation down one at home to ole miss with three mins to go.

Agree that I think we are talking about the same thing. Lets just win both!

Louisville is really going through a bad stretch. But damn, 14 points in a half with their fire power is amazing, but I like it!!!!!
