Official Gameday thread- game 6- Duke vs Oregon St

The lights get brighter again as Duke heads to the west coast for the start of the Phil Knight Legacy tournament in Portland. Last time we were on the west coast we kicked @$$ so let’s do it again! Duke plays at 3est and is currently a 21.5 favorite.

Oregon St which is only known for having a former head coach that was michelle Obama’s brother.. comes in at 3-1 already matching last years win total of 3 games(brutal) they are coached by Wayne Tinkle(real last name) who has been there since 2014 and has a record of 116-137 at the school. Before coaching the beavers he was the head coach at Montana.

Duke shouldn’t have a problem with this one but the time difference and travel could play into it

I think we get off to a slow start due to a long flight and early game time start from there time zone difference. But just by us being listed as a 21.5 favorites I suspect Oregon State not being good. We pull away in second half. Hopefully the role players can continue their strong home play on the road.

I'd like to see Lively becoming more aggressive. Interesting that the USA Today write up featured 9 NBA prospects in Portland. But Flip wasn't one of them. Lively and Whitehead were.

I said this before and got laughed at. Dude didn’t put up any eye catching stats, he was #1 based on potential but we’ll probably never see him play to his potential at Duke.

I’m just glad we got average guys in the transfer portal instead of getting studs you know because our super freshman feelings would’ve been hurt. Tyrese hunter killing it a Texas…

I don’t know squat about Lively other than what I’ve seen of him so far this season.

I can’t imagine he was the best player in high school last year based off what I’ve seen. He has zero offensive game….zero.
