Official game day thread- Duke vs Auburn

I wouldn't classify Evans as best coming off the bench. I think the young man has some of the best upside on the team. Quick release, elevates and not shy. Eventually, you may have to start him if Kon is going to disappear against elite competition.
Agreed...Kon is playing hard but just defending isnt enough to be out there

And do you see how Evans moves without the ball? They just talked about it. I expected that out of Kon because he is not the most athletic kid to get his own shot. JJ Redick was a master at moving without the ball.

Flagg has 10 rebounds too. Even when he’s not scoring at a high clip, he still always has his mark on every game. He’s such a solid player.
I love Cooper Flagg. Reminds me of Grant Hill. Just an elite swiss army knife. Big time blocks, runs the floor on defense, pushes the ball up and finds the open man. The kid is just scratching the surface.

The boys manned up after getting punched early. Glad Evans got a chance. With the focus on Flagg and Kon, opportunities are there for others. Evans made the most of his. He might be the right fit. He’s not short on confidence. Foster looked solid too.

Auburn is reeling, so we need to come out and knock them out early. Plus with the conference getting smoked, we need this win. Then we need Auburn to be strong in their conference. We lose this game, we playing for a 3 seed, 2 at best.

Duke is more than likely undefeated and #1 in the country ifJS would have had enough sense to play Evans all year....
Not sure I agree with this . Teams would have zeroed in on Evans just like they have done Kon. He’s open because they aren’t looking for him . It will change in the second half .

I don't see Auburn going away. That is a very good team who have a few guys that play like Evans. Off balance threes, step back threes, they don't a F

Auburn is a team that can win a title. We will not run away with this one. I expect a tight battle in the second half.

He absolutely makes a difference in those two games. Duke wins both games....

I won't say we will be undefeated but the difference between Evans and Kon is off ball movement from what I see. and Evans doesn't need a lot of room or time to let it go. And he is longer, jumps higher can elevate and shoot over folks. These are all things Kon lacks in my opinion and makes it more difficult to get him shots even while screening for him. Against elite competition anyway. I don't think Kon has had any attempts from 3 tonight? A player who moves well off the ball doesn't have that problem.

Hopefully we dont become Flagg focused in the second half. The balance is what created opportunities....not the time to force shots, just move the ball and they are there. Pearl will adjust so we will have to also. Keeping Broome quiet or limited is going to be a huge key

Foster looks better tonight. I am a big fan of competition. I think Sion starting may have lit a fire under Foster. I like that. Keep dudes on their toes. What's the point of recruiting all these 5 stars if you not going to give guys a shot if folks ahead of them aren't producing. Sometimes it just takes some time on the bench.

Going stagnant again and depending on Flagg to bail us out late in the shot clock

I was predicting last night to a friend that we would jump out to a 10 point lead and then fade down the stretch. Here's hoping I'm not Nostradamus.

What is Gillis doing rotating all late and then that horrible decision you not blocking that man shot hell if you gonna foul him then foul him none of this in between nonsense.

Slow on the pick and roll adjustments in this half. We've slowed up on offense too.
