There were already indicators he’d come back. Plus Harrison was playing Duke anyway.

Carrick Felix picked Duke in the spring of 2010 under the assumption that Singler was going pro and then backed out when Singler decided to stay. Barnes may have been playing Duke--opinions differ-but Singler and Barnes absolutely could have played together and Singler's status did not factor into Barnes' decision.

Carrick Felix did not have a very good freshman year at ASU. Something like 4 ppg. Of cousre he went into the draft his junior year and was taken #33. Not what he was counting on . OFC

In retrospect, not getting Barnes didn't hurt Duke one iota, and UNC is really getting no "pro cachet" from him like Duke gets from guys like Zion, Kyrie, Tatum, etc. No young teens want to be Harrison Barnes.
