It's two days away from the football opener, roughly two months away from the basketball opener -- so what better time than to start a thread for Duke's baseball season?

This can serve as the thread for Duke's fall ball, preseason and in-season, one-stop shop for Duke baseball discussion.

Also, not that you need my permission, but feel free to discuss former Duke players here, anything college-baseball related, etc.

Kicking this off by copy and pasting Duke's release of which transfers have joined the team to start the fall semester:

Looks like a solid transfer class, although it doesn’t look like we got any top-shelf pitchers, just a solid group. Rounds and Hyde look like they could be impact players at the plate.

Is Duke going to offer the full 34 baseball scholarships?

Is Duke going to offer the full 34 baseball scholarships?
That rule doesn't start until the 2025-26 academic year, so it has no bearing on this season.

As to whether Duke will in the future ... I'll try to get a specific answer from Duke, but it's very much up in the air for the whole sport. The one thing that everybody seems to agree on is that nobody in college baseball will offer the full 34 scholarships as soon as it goes into effect.

This story from D1Baseball explains better than I can.
