Our rotation this year outside of the top 4 seems to be entirely situational. I think everyone will see the floor at one time and hopefully will be ready to play. But I agree, if Robinson keeps playing well keep playing him. He seems more consistent than the other bench guys. Hurt will get his minutes.
I never read any report of that, unfortunately.
I do think cutting the rotation to 8 can end up being a good thing though. Roles will be more defined and guys will be expected to contribute. It worked in 2015.
Va and duhondukie , I ain’t trying to hate on you, but just check your style. People don’t wanna hear that shit EVERY DAMN GAMETHREAD. We’re all on here pulling for a team that we love and are coherent enough to realize there can be ugly streaks in a game that end up a win. When you start trashing players and throwing in the towel in the first half of a thread, it’s REALLY aggravating. The problem though lies here. I think you both already know all this, and just get off on causing drama. That sucks, even worse than your posts.

One of the recent complaints was limited flow offensively, or not "running sets," and instead seemingly just allowing/hoping players could create. I thought last night, even in the beginning when shots weren't falling and Duke was tight, that there was more purpose and design to the offense. Maybe that was just my perception.
I was thinking about how for Duke it currently seems like the only two options are hyper-aggressive 30+ feet out man-to-man or zone, with nothing in between. I think a more conservative man would work well for this group in stretches. Not full-on packline mind you, but something closer to that. I feel like that is how the 2010 team played defensively, and how the 2015 team played down the stretch. Those groups weren't really putting ball pressure on guards 40 feet out (and yes I know I am pulling the move of only using National Champs as my examples, but you get my meaning). My thought is that K feels he has two such good ball pressure guards currently playing 30+ minutes a game, but man it is hard to guard that aggressively from a full team standpoint.

Was hot after we lost Sat nite but my 14 yr old son came home from volunteering at homeless shelter Sunday morning and was worried about the kids who sleep outside. My anger subsided quickly b/c that is a real problem.
It takes years to develop man to man defense and AAU simply teaches zero defense. With OAD's its near impossible to play defense similar to 2010. Singler shut down every main scorer in that tourney run. Singler vs Haywood on final possession was footwork clinic.

I would like to see more of Tre, Vern, Cash, Moore, and Hurt to start out. That line up was, well different for me. Was a little scared at first and kept staring at the table looking for a sub lol.

It was totally random and brief! Not sure what it was meant to accomplish since we didnt run anything for Joey specifically when he was out there at the start of the game. Maybe a reward for effort? Confuse NC State? Beyond that, it was a very short-lived starting rotation for sure and then no more significant playing time for Joey/Jav. Par for the course this year!

Something else I've noticed.....Hurt is slowly gaining some muscle.
He finished a solid And-1 through contact early in the game last night, he also has started to grab some 50/50 rebounds that he had zero chance of getting a month ago.

Sometimes shots aren't going to fall....and I agree with your synopsis, we were very tight. K talked about it in his presser after the game last night, too. When things go bad, like they had been, it's very easy to let that stuff into your head and have a negative impact. You press. Duke played scared last night for the first 10 minutes. They're a young and fragile group....so not really all that surprising.
I don’t actually know what causes you so much hate towards certain posters on here, I guess that is not for me to figure out. I feel that I am positive at times and at times probably am to critical. I would say my posts fall somewhere in between but the stuff you post about me and a few others is a little overboard. I love Duke basketball like you do and have been a duke fan for over 35 years, I am not on here to cause problems and if you take it that way I am sorry. If you go back and look at the game threads there are more positive posts than negative. Did I say last night that watching Wendell dribble out of control over and over again made me want to throw up? Yes I did.

I’m not sure why we keep trying to make AOC or Baker JJ Redick. IIRC, AOC’s 3 point shooting has decreased every year at Duke (think he’s shooting like 23% this season). Not sure about Baker, but outside of his performance at home earlier this season, he hasn’t been the shooter we were looking for.
Who knows if we make a FF or not, but I’d rather ride Goldwire’s defense, something that is more reliable and consistent than AOC/Baker/White’s outside shooting.
I so wanted AOC/Baker/White to become more consistent from the outside, but after 30 games they are who they are. But if we’re playing a zone, AOC is zone buster, but outside of that...eek.
Maybe J-Rob is who we wanted AOC/Baker to be.

I don't always agree with K and I've questioned moves and rotations a lot too the last few weeks....but in the end, it's best left deferring to him. He knows his team more than I do. That doesn't mean he's going to make every right decision, though. But I trust him more than I trust anyone here.

My wife always asks me if I am that upset over a bad play, how do I think the player that made the play feels about it? I just tell her to shut up and get back in the kitchen where she belongs.
I don’t thibk anyone here has any issue at all with criticism, but there’s been several posts where Duke “fans” have called one of our players trash, or that they suck. Stuff like like is uncalled for. These are kids basically and I believe when they release the ball, they want it to go in more than we do. And then there are the ones who are only here when we are losing. People get tired of that too. I think coach K addressed these kinds of fans well in his presser
I post here just because I enjoy it. I don't post here for post counts or likes. Simply because I enjoy it. I don't idolize anyone on here. No one does. I really do though admire, like respect a lot of the posters here. I do have a lot of free time since I am retired and I do spend more time here than most. I'm really not familar with you K Coach and don't know what motivated you to post what you did but like you said it's a free board and as long as you are cordial you have the right to your opinion as I do and I think you are off base in your assesment of this board in general. Maybe if you would post more often you could add to the board and perhaps understand those of us who spend a lot of time here. One thing we all stand on common ground is we are all Duke fans.
