Yeah, it was tough. First, we were considered the leader for Brandan Wright. I remember reading articles about his visit to Carolina and how their reporters thought he was bored stiff. Even Ty Lawson posted something on FB about how he thought Wright was all Duke. Two days later, he committed to the Heels.

Then there was Greg Monroe. We were once again widely considered the leader....he didn't even VISIT. He went to Georgetown on a visit and committed before the weekend was over.

Patterson always seemed like a pipe dream, IMO. But I admit, I got sucked in by him. He said a lot of the right things....and I think he enjoyed having that Duke name on his list. After the fact things started leaking that it was always Kentucky and only Kentucky.

We were starving for good news on the recruiting front....any good news. Even if it was something named Gregory Echenique. Hahaha....

Remember each of these like they were yesterday. I joined in February 2009 when i had reached my boiling point. I came in peace though.

I've been posting here since 2003 back when I was a student at Duke, but got banned for trash talking a mod around 2007. I don't think it was a current mod, but don't remember their handle. I rejoined in 2010 as a more mature person. I can't even remember what I my original handle was. Probably DukeDumbass69 or something like that.

It's a better brand, IMO. I enjoy hearing form a variety of voices. Too much groupthink gets old. And then you have the "Woe is us" crowd after every loss, declaring that our chances of going far in the tournament are officially over. Mercy. That shiz gets tiresome.

Speaking of the national board, after I didn’t renew my subscription to the insider site, I can only read threads there now. It says I must log in, but it won’t let me when I try. Is there anyway you can let me know what, or how this can be fixed? Thanks

I tagged a mod on this thread and asked to see if they could resolve the situation for you. They're usually pretty timely about fixing these things. Let me know after a couple days if you're still having troubles, and I'll reach out again.

There's a big difference between the Rupp Rafters and the main board Kentucky fans. Most of the Kentucky fans on the main board are pretty reasonable. Some of my favorite posters are even UK fans. There are a few outliers, sure, but it's that way with any sizable fanbase.
