SEC completely curbstomped our conference …

ACC is the fifth best conference right now. I would say ACC is little better than the West Coast Conference. They are most definitely behind SEC, Big 12, Big 10 and Big East. The ACC has two legitimate teams in Duke and Clemson. I would assume UNC will rebound and make the tournament. But after that the rest of the conference has an uphill battle to make it with how bad it is. There will be only a few Quad 1 or 2 games when conference games start. Embarrassing
I agree with all of this except I'd throw in Pitt as a legitimate team. Three wins against P5 teams -- WVU, LSU, Ohio State -- and their last couple of seasons under Capel gives them the benefit of the doubt, IMO, in spite of laying an egg at Mississippi State.

Kyle Singler

Chris, Singler and Nolan are my two favorite Blue Devils of All Time. Think if Kyrie doesn’t get hurt their Senior Year and they would have won back to back, both Singler’s and Smith’s jerseys would be hanging up in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

It was rough from 2007-2009 and I felt Singler and Smith were the catalysts in getting Duke back on track.
I think Kyle's jersey should be up in the rafters. I hope he gets some help.

Duke will be fine as long as it can avoid the bad losses. No more going to Georgia Tech or some such and losing.

This is a young team, feeling pretty good about themselves right now. Can they stay focused and take care of business? We should know a lot more after the Louisville game this weekend.
I hear you. But it's hard for even the veteran teams to go through a 20-game league schedule without a "bad" loss.

UNC last year won the most ACC games since the league went to the 20-game slate (started in 2019-20 season), and that was 17-3 with losses at Georgia Tech and Syracuse, and at home to the team they beat like 63 straight times in Chapel Hill or whatever (Clemson).

Caught the 20 minute game recap after a long work week. Here are my thoughts.
1. My only negative. 13-2. There is no excuse for that. I get Jon is the slow and steady type, but this kind of slow start could doom us against the wrong team on a neutral floor.
2. Evans. Wow. This kid has star quality. 6 3 pointers in a half? Against the #2 team. Several of them were contested. My goodness this guy could be our Maggette off the bench.
3. Tyrese Proctor are you a dog? Well done sir. Several daggers, and some cockiness. We need this. Play with this edge and you could be special.
4. More subtle; but Foster had a really nice game. Some nice drives and finishes.
5. Cooper is figuring out how to score in the open court, and it is a thing of beauty. The kid is so smooth.
6. Brown is otherworldly on defense. His knack to disrupt the ball handler is uncanny. He needs more minutes.
7. Nate James (sorry Sion James) is a bulldog. we need that physicality. Really like his game. Can get carried away but you need that toughness.
8. Kon had a quiet game but made some big plays and sweet passes. This kid will be a factor for us this year.
9. It got physical/borderline dirty at one point and Brown was right there. He was like "not in our house." We need that guy.
10. No coincidence that Brown and Sion were in at crunch time, and made some key plays. Huge win. This team still has some issues(free throw shooting could be our doom) but they seem to be figuring it out. Great win coach Jon and team. This is something to build on.
Guru Gary take notes. Coors Chris puts you to shame.

If Pat can get healthy and earn some PT at the 5, I'd like to see Malik at the 4. It would give us an option for matching up with a team with 2 good bigs.

Hard to imagine Evans going back to barely playing. In the postgame, Jon said he's been working hard on defense in practice. I thought he worked hard and was scrappy on D last night.

Proctor was so clutch. Caleb played really well off the bench. Sion and Malik don't stand out in the box score, but wow! Do they do the little things and help us stay calm.
Malik at the 4 would kill our spacing offensively
