Other Games 24-25 Season

In a game out by me UCLA beat Washington in Seattle. The Huskies are 500 and having a rough first year in the Big 10 or whatever it is called now. They hired the Utah State coach after Mike Hopkins was fired. If Autry gets fired at Syracuse (they didn't make the tournament last year and won't this year) I wonder if SU make a run at Hopkins, who played and coached there. Syracuse leads Pitt by 4; I think you can stick a fork in Pitt if they lose today.

There’s proof that FEMA money was used to house illegal immigrants. I just have a problem with not taking care of people that have worked and lived in the US all their lives and then when there is a need they get passed over for illegals. If you watched any of Trump’s meetings in NC and California you can tell he listens to what people are saying. I’m sure he has a plan to begin with, most leaders do. It’s just nice to have a President that you can actually see out in the public doing things and not being hidden because you’re afraid of the gaffes he might make. As usual, you always have to get a fig in at somebody to try to make you feel more intelligent than the person you respond to.
Yes, there is proof. What you need, though, is context. Pre-existing programs that require housing are not harming WNC. FEMA wasn't faced with an either/or choice where they decided to take care of undocumented immigrants instead of WNC.

Again, I don't trust that he listens. Again, it is great that he is out in public in the proverbial trenches.

Sorry if my previous statement had a fig in it. I hope the first part of this response is a slightly more thorough and respectful explanation for why citing FEMA housing for undocumented immigrants in connection to hurricane relief in WNC is the outpouring of bovine anuses/anusi.

Credit to President Trump for being in tune with what people think and feel, whether he is actually listening or not. Personally, I think he decides what he wants to do first, then sells it.

The bold is an idiotic distortion you've apparently swallowed whole.

I believe the amendment talks about under the jurisdiction of a country. Entering illegally means you are still under the jurisdiction of your home country so your child would be as well. It was never intended for those that broke the law to enter the country. It was intended for slaves that were brought here against their will. No way the original writers could have envisioned it being used this way. The good thing about Trump's EO is that is causing a conversation and will force it to be taken through the courts. Once the courts has its say then a discussion about adjusting the constitution can begin. That will be difficult, as it should be, but that is how these things start.
This is why President Trump uses language about invasions. Historically, there has been a very clear distinction between invading forces excluded from the amendment and immigrants of any kind, documented or undocumented. If he can redefine undocumented immigrants as invaders, there's a clear path to ending birthright citizenship.

The reason precedent is important, but not insurmountable, is so that we don't have so much "adjusting." We have a lengthier, more deliberate process for amending instead. It's easier to pack the court with sycophants who will interpret things to your liking, though, so "adjusting" is probably the right word.

The original writers wouldn't have envisioned the 2nd Amendment protecting a culture of mass shootings, either, so...

This times one hundred. He went to NC today and is now headed to CA. He actually listens to the people and then decides what needs to be done. Where the hell was the Biden administration during the floods in NC? Oh yeah, they thought FEMA took care of everyone with the $750 disbursement, but in reality they were taking care of the illegal aliens.

You're going to a pretty dumb place with that. TBH. We're not talking about people who are going through the steps of legal citizenship and getting frustrated by the process. We're talking about people who skipped the process all together. You know, the people who flat out ran the stoplight without waiting for it to turn green.
Or the 40th car that watched the first 39 cars try the broken process.

At the end of the day, we both want a reasonable, functioning process for vetting and admitting people into the country. It strikes me as vindictive to hold it against people that much for skipping a process we acknowledge is broken. That's a really low priority for any process I'd like to see.

Official game day thread- Duke vs Wake

We have the size but they're very experienced. If they go zone, we can't fall in love with the 3. But in the end, I think it'll come down to free throws and 3 ball. Cheats only shot 10 free throws vs 27 for Wake. Think it'll be the normal Duke game where they keep it close for a bit and part of the second half and we start to pull away.

Let's go Duke!
