SEC completely curbstomped our conference …

A lot of the fault has to fall at the feet of conference leadership, but at the end of the day football is the driver. How many times can you turn on an ACC football game and see a packed stadium? Clemson and FSU (when they're good). Even Miami had issues filling home games. You turn on an SEC or Big10 game and it's packed. Perception is reality. The fans can do as much for the basketball program as the football program by selling out Saturday's. That is how you build money for the war chest.

In the first half even after his first three makes from three Auburn wasn’t defending Evans all that good . I think he had two of his eight three’s really contested. What he needed was the other four on the court to start hitting in the second . They weren’t so Auburn zeroed in on him( an adjustment by Pearl I get that ) . In order for him to continue to smoke from the three point line we need to keep the defense honest .
He wasn’t given a chance until after 7 minutes had expired in the second half. That is what my gripe was about. I just thought he should have subbed in at least 3-4 minutes into the second half. Just my thoughts and like I said I respect the job Jon is doing. I’m glad I’m not a fan of the team that’s 8 miles down the road.

I totally get Kon starting and finishing the game. I just think a guy who is on fire should have gotten early minutes in the second half. I trust Jon knows what he’s doing and I’m sure the staff is communicating with Evans and keeping his confidence up. I saw Carawell talking to him a lot throughout the game.

Pitt was a bubble team the last two years because its non-conference strength of schedule was putrid (249th and 340th, KenPom).

This year, because they've gone out and played a bunch of P5s, it's 37th. That can change over the next three months but it's not going to fall all the way to where it's been.

So, if they're a bubble team -- I don't think they will be -- they'll get some preferential treatment because they challenged themselves with a tough non-conference schedule.

But the reality is they've positioned themselves better to be in the field barring a collapse in ACC play; the same way Clemson did last year when it was a 6-seed despite finishing 6th in the ACC.

I believe we will need to go 17-3 at the minimum in ACC play to be a 1-seed in the NCAA's. That would put us at 5 total losses, and we obviously have to beat Illinois in NYC. 18-2 would definitely work too. It's been a long time though since Duke has dominated conference play like that.

Undefeated at home, and win most of our road games will be the formula. @ Wake, @ Clemson, @ UVA, @ Miami, and @ UNC look to be our toughest games. I know, Miami is awful right now, but still a tough place for us over the years.

Pitt is always a bubble team though and I feel any ACC bubble team will definitely be left out this season. Pitt has to have a great ACC record to get off the bubble and not be in question. Can they do it? Not sure especially after getting blown out by 30 to an average Mississippi State team. I thought Pitt would have won that game. Not a great showing at all.
