David Robinson’s son awarded scholarship by Duke
Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 5:05 by Brett Friedlander

Justin Robinson, the son of Hall of Famer David Robinson, will be on scholarship with the Duke basketball team next season.

The 6-foot-8 forward from San Antonio, Tex., had already agreed to join the Blue Devils as a preferred walkon. But because Duke will have only 10 other players on scholarship in 2014-15, coach Mike Krzyzewski decided to give the younger Robinson one as well.

Robinson was told of the decision Tuesday night, according to Don Harris of WOAI-TV in San Antonio.

Like his famous father, who attended several Duke games with him last season, Robinson is considered a late bloomer who is still growing. David Robinson was only 6-7 when he arrived at Navy and grew to be 7-feet tall by the time he left as the top overall NBA draft pick by the San Antonio Spurs.

The younger Robinson averaged 13.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.6 blocked shots per game for San Antonio Christian School as a senior last year.

I think that's great. I have been noticing that no one was mentioning Robinson for next year. Hope he stays a while.

Considering his family here is betting he helps the program each year. Welcome.
