The New Lounge

You're more educated than me, more cunning, and more clever at knowing how to avoid an issue, or getting things off the issue. Like right now.

But you've also been indoctrinated. Which makes your overall intelligence extremely low.
Being educated doesn't make one more intelligent, but if you have to play the odds...

I don't base my thoughts on msm; I'm not a member of the Democratic Party; I didn't vote for Biden in the 2020 primary; I've used and taught critical thinking skills for 29.375 years. I don't consider myself above indoctrination, which is a good way of staying alert to make sure it doesn't happen. I am confident I am far less brainwashed than you.

You've revealed some really unflattering things about yourself today, mac:
* I wasn't nice to you 7 years ago and you've been holding a grudge ever since.
* You're practically begging me to tell you you were right and I was wrong when at best you guessed something. At no point have you offered any proof except the eye test, and if you ever saw Marty Pocius' calves, you would know isn't all that.

I owe you nothing, and you've engendered exactly zero charity.

The question you should be asking is how (and why) was he the President? He didn't get like this later into his term, he was bad before he was sworn in. Instead you spin it a little.

Own it. This was one of the biggest scam jobs in the history of our country.
In TeH hIsToRy oF OuR cOuNtRy!!1! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I rest my case.
Without ever evening opening it.

Saying someone else just proved your point or that you rest your case or that you couldn’t have said it better yourself or any other such variation is a lazy way to claim victory without doing anything.

Explain how mocking your hyperbole about how the latest topic is yet another example of the worst thing ever proves anything under discussion in your favor.

I say no offense, because I am not saying this with the sole intention of offending you @Dattier . But you are one of the most well spoken, passionate and straightforward person I have run across on an anonymous platform. But at the same time, one of the most condescending, immature and spiteful person in general. You're a tough one to figure out. Now you have already made it clear that you would rather spit in my eye than shake my hand. But I still wonder if you would be a fun person to have a beer with or not.

No offense taken.
I am reactionary.
I would not spit in your eye nor prefer to, but I would have fun not shaking your hand. It would almost be worth having 2 whole beers with you just to extend the non-handshaking.
I like poking the bear.

Performative. First Ukraine, then Canada, now South Africa. Who will be the next contestant on Photo Op Ambush?

Where are the stats on hate crimes against white S. African farmers? And any analysis of the tensions there? As far as I know, Elon Musk whispered in our President's ear and now he's pursuing a line of ketchup through the ocean like the world's dumbest shark.

Plus, everyone knows how easy it is to pay a bunch of poor, scary, scary Black people to chant things on video when you have the dark money backing of conservative supervillain Seorge Goros.

Performative? Maybe.
Even so, it’s an improvement over the last admin who acted like this racist clown was the second coming of Nelson Mandela. He openly supports Putin and Hamas. He needs to be dressed down.

Stats? The South African govt is in charge of stats last I checked so that’s a no go. There’s enough violence and intimidation where Afrikaaners who have lived there for centuries are starting to leave so that speaks volumes. Have there been thousands of white farmers killed? Probably not. Hundreds? Maybe. Why would you stick around and find out when the govt not only turns a blind eye but actively encourages genocide?

I'm skeptical of anything conservatives call racism, considering how many allegations of racism they deny when the alleged victims are the traditionally marginalized groups who have always faced racism.

President Ramaphosa has visited Moscow and called for peace in Ukraine, which Putin rejected. He visited Ukraine and called for peace, as well.
While it's certainly more complicated, how can you not have the slightest understanding and empathy for why native South Africans would identify more closely with Palestinians? Calling for a cease fire and expressing concern about Israel's unilateral blockades are entirely reasonable.
In what way does the South African govt "actively encourag[e] genocide"? If you mean that they have a policy that inadvertently encourages genocide, just say so and proceed to connect those dots for me, pretty, pretty please.

I do have more than the slightest understanding of why South Africa would “ identify” with the “Palestinians”. Both groups have gotten the short end of the stick, one through no fault of their own, one due to radical Islam and blind Jew hatred which prevented them from taking a deal giving them about 85 % of historical Palestine after WW2. Jordan got about 67% so there’s already one Pali state to go along with tens of other Muslim nations.
Identification is a far cry from hosting delegations of Hamas officials on multiple occasions and being the ring leader of false genocide claims against Israel in the ICC. You have always insisted that there is daylight between Hamas and the “civilian” population. Now you refer to identification with the Palis and Hamas as if it’s the same thing.
Was calling for a ceasefire immediately after Oct 7 before Israel had even responded? Was that entirely reasonable as well?

So he “called for peace” in Ukraine did he? What a visionary. This is in stark contrast to the scores of international leaders who are on record stating they want the war to continue. What are his conditions for peace? Would Putin be allowed to keep territory gained in the war? If so, this would be decidedly pro Putin. Or are there no conditions as if each side will one day just wake up and stop fighting? If it’s the latter then it’s just empty platitudes designed to increase his stature on the world stage. Unfortunately, South Africa has no leverage on the global sphere as they will likely soon be indistinguishable from other African nations in GDP and quality of life levels. China’s bought up their natural resources and crime rates are through the roof

This is called "kitchen sinking." Look at the wall of text here. Count the question marks. It's a wild goose chase.

You definitely don't demonstrate any empathy for why native S Africans would feel allegiance w/ Palestine from the moment you put "identity" in quotation marks. You're basically saying they're too stupid to see Palestinians like you do. That's the context for your understanding.

Funny how my request for actual data about hate crimes in S Africa was waved away because they're govt stats, but you're so willing to trot out govt stats when it comes to Israel.

While excusing every ridiculous thing President Trump does, y'all cling to the slightest mistake in others to justify why they deserve to be treated like crap as guests.

South Africa's relative irrelevance in global politics makes it that much more clear that our President's concern for white land owners there is a favor for his buddy Musk who has a vested interest in keeping things as close to colonial rule as possible in South Africa.

So about that genocide in South Africa.........?

Did Jake Tapper not just prove what millions (and I'm one of those, which chaps your ass) knew four plus years ago, that Biden wasn't fit for office? Is that not proof?? Of course it is, you'll just find a way to spin it like you always do.

You just can't stand it when I'm right. Let it go Datt, let it go.

I asked so many questions only because your post was so vague and devoid of any meaningful information.
Re: the stats, best I can glean in a few minutes search, there have been increased attacks on farmers in recent years. The govt states that it doesnt keep records of farmers’ race ( weird right?) so it doesn’t know if deaths of white farmers have increased specifically or just farmers’ deaths in general. That’s their story and they’re sticking to it. Although some radical groups in Sourh Africa call for genocidal retribution against Afrikaner land owners, I’ve found no evidence of it being govt sanctioned and there’s definitely not enough evidence to support accusations of genocide. If Fox News or Newsmax has any, they would have posted it.

I would think anywhere that has a history of institutionalized racism that still affects the present would find it useful to track racial statistics moving forward.
I also think "farmer" is probably the wrong word here. When I hear the word "farmer," I think of family-owned, family-run farms where the head farmer is out in the field daily. I suspect the people being targeted in South Africa -- in whatever numbers -- are more like landed gentry, who profit passively off of land ownership without actually doing any work. Just a hunch.
I did find something saying President Ramaphosa supports a plan of taking back such land from white land owners, which, phrased like that, is admittedly alarming.

BBC excerpt- The country has one of the highest murder rates in the world. There were 26,232 murders last year, according to South African Police Service (SAPS) figures.

Of these, 44 were killings of people within the farming community and of those, eight were of farmers.
-------------------------------
CNN excerpt -
There is a lot of violent crime in South Africa. There is not a genocide against White farmers there.

Claims of genocide can sometimes be difficult to adjudicate. This claim is easy. The facts show that the genocide President Donald Trump suggests might be happening is not happening – and that crime against White farmers in South Africa represents a tiny fraction of the country’s overall crime.

The most recent South African official data shows that the country had 19,696 murders from April 2024 through December 2024 – and that the victim in just 36 of these murders, about 0.2%, was linked to farms or smaller agricultural holdings.

Further, only seven of the 36 victims were farmers. (South Africa has Black farmers, too; the official data is not broken down by race.) The other 29 victims included farm employees, who tend to be Black.

Data from groups representing South African farmers also shows that farm killings number in the dozens per year, a minuscule percentage of the country’s total.
------------------------------------
PBS excerpt -
White farmers have been murdered in South Africa. But those murders account for less than 1% of more than 27,000 annual murders nationwide. Experts said the deaths do not amount to genocide, and Trump misleads about land confiscation.

“The idea of a ‘white genocide’ taking place in South Africa is completely false,” said

Gareth Newham, who heads a justice and violence prevention program at the Institute for Security Studies in South Africa.

“As an independent Institute tracking violence and violent crime in South Africa, if there was any evidence of either a genocide or targeted violence taking place against any group based on their ethnicity this, we would be amongst the first to raise (the) alarm and provide the evidence to the world.”

There are about 2.7 million white Afrikaners, who are descendants of Dutch and French settlers, in South Africa. About 80% of the people living in South Africa are Black. From 1948 until the early 1990s, South Africa lived under apartheid rule, racial segregation that gave only white people power and forced Black South Africans to live separately from white people.

I think we’re all aware of the apartheid system that existed until the 1980s. There were concerts about it, songs written about it, Mandela was a household name.
I’ve already said I wouldn’t classify what Trump described as a genocide.

One bone to pick: PBS used the fact that white farmers’ murders make up less than 1% of all deaths in South Africa and that this somehow disproved genocide. Oh it sounds somewhat academic but genocide is the specific targeting of civilians based on race, religion, etc.
However many people were killed in the same area for other reasons ( in this case the other 99%) is irrelevant to the adjudication of genocide charges

I would think anywhere that has a history of institutionalized racism that still affects the present would find it useful to track racial statistics moving forward.

Myth 2 addresses paragraph 2.

I don't think of you at all. I've let you go, for sure.
Right. Not gonna call you a liar, but you're not telling the truth. You can't stand it that what I was saying years ago is now being confirmed by folks that are on your side of the aisle.
