I did read it, though after I posted my question. I don't think that paragraph answers my question. I'm not debating whether it is evidence of some family tendency. I want to understand why it is relevant for the then-VP to acknowledge it publicly. For Beau Biden himself not to reveal it for the sake of the people of Delaware and his role as state AG is another matter; why did then-VP Biden need to reveal it?You must not have read the link. Second paragraph. The authors of this book clearly think it’s relevant; that’s why I posted it.
Do you think he knew he was wrong in 2020 and was lying, or that he truly believed it?This one instance pretty much sums up the clash between the media and the right over Biden's presidency. In 2020 Jake Tapper had Laura Trump on his show. She spoke then of his mental decline. Tapper cut her off, mocking her saying she wasn't qualified to give the opinion she was giving, and that Biden's issue was a stutter. Fast forward to now. On an interview with Megyn Kelly, he admitted he was wrong, and called Laura Trump to apologize to her.

Possible . They thought the voters would hold Biden accountable for the border and inflation. The plan with Kamala, gussying her up as some sort of hope and change candidate despite her record low unpopulary the previous four years, worked for a while. She got an initial bump due to 95% favorable media coverage and an adequate debate showing. She clearly caught Trump off guard. She had her moments when she actually put the prep work in, but the 60 minutes and View interviews were her downfall. Even on friendly terrain, she just couldn’t answer basic questions.I think I’ve figured it out. The original plan was to push Biden across the finish line and then install Kamala. However, polling numbers were showing Trump was clearly going to win. If it’s completely obvious Biden is going to lose and then they rig the election again, the steal would’ve been too obvious.
Next they purposely sabotage Biden by making him do the debate so the world can see how incapacitated he is. The concerted campaign with the msm then starts to get him out and Kamala in. They put everything into trying to convince the American people that Kamala was a legitimate candidate.
So essentially I think they said “We know Biden can’t beat Trump, so we will take our chances with Kamala and try to hide her through the election.
Thoughts from non-libs?
It was only successful to Dems like you that believe what the msm sales.Would you consider it a successful cover-up, at least through the 2020 election, if not most of his term?
Pattern of coverups by this family of serious medical issues that interfere with political aspirations. Not clear whether it was originally Joe or Beau’s idea, but it’s clear that Beau shouldn’t have been working the last year of his life and that the stress of a hectic lifestyle likely hastened his death. How is the VP's son's health relevant and therefore a cover-up that it wasn't shared publicly?
Already on record that I'm not a registered Democrat and that I do not depend on msm for my news.It was only successful to Dems like you that believe what the msm sales.
Where do you get your news, besides this message board I mean?Already on record that I'm not a registered Democrat and that I do not depend on msm for my news.

The eyes don't lie. We saw him shuffling, stumbling, and mumbling through interviews or press conferences since 2020. If you went to a Retirement home a few times and talked with some of the same residents, you'd have a good gauge as who had memory/cognitive decline.Disagreeing and asking for proof you never procured is not the same as calling you liars.
As there is at least a little bias to every news source, the key is getting a cross-section. I do that. I never base my opinions off a single source.Where do you get your news, besides this message board I mean?
He is still giving interviews where he is coherent and even witty. The eyes don't lie. We saw him shuffling, stumbling, and mumbling through interviews or press conferences since 2020. It's hard to imagine he believed in 2020 that Biden was ok. I think Tapper, along with most of the others, had to toe the company line. The disaster of his debate in 24 forced most of msm to alter their stance some.Do you think he knew he was wrong in 2020 and was lying, or that he truly believed it?
Was his apology for being disrespectful when she was right, or for gaslighting her?
And a broken clock is right twice a day.He is still giving interviews where he is coherent and even witty.
What kind of proof? Medical proof? That’s the whole point of a coverup; there is no proof other than what we saw with our own eyes every day. If the Rep pointed to video evidence, they were accused of doctoring “Cheap Fakes”, of being cruel and ageist.Disagreeing and asking for proof you never procured is not the same as calling you liars.
BINGOWhat kind of proof? Medical proof? That’s the whole point of a coverup; there is no proof other than what we saw with our own eyes every day. If the Rep pointed to video evidence, they were accused of doctoring “Cheap Fakes”, of being cruel and ageist.
I’m seeing this more and more from Dems. They are embarrassed of being labeled as a Democrat, so they register as an Independent while still voting Dem every election.Already on record that I'm not a registered Democrat and that I do not depend on msm for my news.
In order to gaslight someone, you have to know otherwise yourself. Unless you think people can gaslight themselves, I guess. It's hard to imagine he believed in 2020 that Biden was ok. I think Tapper, along with most of the others, had to toe the company line. The disaster of his debate in 24 forced most of msm to alter their stance some.
Hope his apology was genuine. He was disrespectful, and he was gaslighting her.
Again, not the same as calling you a liar. What kind of proof? Medical proof? That’s the whole point of a coverup; there is no proof other than what we saw with our own eyes every day. If the Rep pointed to video evidence, they were accused of doctoring “Cheap Fakes”, of being cruel and ageist.
What's to stop that from being applied to you? That you knew nothing about Biden's actual cognitive state, and were merely assuming it based on symptoms that very well could have been something else? And a broken clock is right twice a day.
It’s not a fixed condition It gets worse. So if there were no signs prior to the debate, if it was merely a stuttering issue, then why was he jettisoned in the coup? Couldn’t it have just been a bad night? Or was the debate a sign that it was getting worse? That any attempt going forward to claim that the Rep were exaggerating Biden’s condition would look sketchy? In order to gaslight someone, you have to know otherwise yourself. Unless you think people can gaslight themselves, I guess.
If it was so obvious and everyone truly knew back in 2020, what difference did the '24 debate make? If it was so easy to deny something that obvious before, why not stick with the same denial in '24?
As an unaffiliated voter in NC, I have the option of choosing a Republican ballot in the primary, and did so in 2000 to vote for Sen McCain over then Gov Bush. I don't recall how much earlier than that I opted for unaffiliated on my registration, but it was before 2000 and I haven't changed that since. If you're seeing more and more people claiming they're not Democrats, it's likely because it's true, but you're calling them Democrats anyway, as you are in this instance with me.I’m seeing this more and more from Dems. They are embarrassed of being labeled as a Democrat, so they register as an Independent while still voting Dem every election.
How many times have you not voted for a Democrat in a presidential election?
So if we agree that it gets worse, why the hard line on claiming everyone knew it so clearly in 2020?It’s not a fixed condition It gets worse. So if there were no signs prior to the debate, if it was merely a stuttering issue, then why was he jettisoned in the coup? Couldn’t it have just been a bad night? You're not seeing the forest because of the trees. The media has been gaslighting the right for a long time. The Biden ordeal was a huge one, but they got egg on their face the night of the debate. I believe they were so brazen, they actually thought they could keep the wool over enough peoples eyes. The right? They knew we didn't buy what they were selling. The far left, like you? They had nothing to worry about. They have their control over you. The issue was the many still hovering around in the middle undecided. Enough of them just happened to finally use their eyes, and they came to a conclusion similar to all those on the right. That the left was full of shit.In order to gaslight someone, you have to know otherwise yourself. Unless you think people can gaslight themselves, I guess.

You wouldn’t concede an inch.So if we agree that it gets worse, why the hard line on claiming everyone knew it so clearly in 2020?
(If not from you specifically, then definitely from @Mac9192 , @dukesince91 , and @GhostOf301)
For me, this has never been a question of whether he has lost a step, of whether there has been any decline whatsoever. No, most of y'all have been saying since 2021, if not earlier, that he was a complete vegetable, that he was incapable of doing anything whatsoever. That kind of hyperbole might be fine among friends, but I'm not any of y'all's friend, and not a single one of you would ever back off your hyperbole an inch. You deny it's hyperbole. So what's left then except trench warfare? Why would I concede an inch here when none of y'all will and I'm badly outnumbered? It's no different than what you said about Israel with me not long ago: in certain contexts, you're willing to be critical of certain decisions and Netanyahu's leadership, but in other contexts it's time for a united front, to circle the wagons. Why is it so hard to believe that with Trump as an alternative, spouting all kinds of rhetoric about retribution throughout the campaign last year, Democrats would cling to practically anything?
For Datt: Prob the first time you’re seeing it. What would have happened if she hadn’t intervened?Remember when the Easter bunny had to stop him from talking to the press? Throughout his 2020 campaign and his entire presidency, there was always someone in between him and the press to stop them from asking questions and to keep him from answering them. And we're supposed to just pretend we didn't see that with our own eyes.
To you. Here. Exactly. Because y'all won't accept an inch. you want the next inch, then the next. You wouldn’t concede an inch.
Bingo.
Not at all what I said.It was very clear during the campaign in 2020 that Biden was mostly a vegetable. That's why he ran a basement campaign and rarely took questions or made statements. This isn’t some wild conspiracy. You don't get to deny it for 3 years and then when it get exposed to the point that even the propagandists themselves have to cover it, then say, 'well, he WAS sharp and the fact that he is a vegetable now doesn't mean that you were right this whole time'. Totally dishonest and idiotic.
I have no respect for your intellect or communication style, mac. I wouldn't even know where to begin with this. You are condescending aML from the jump. Do not pass go. The fact you're asking for proof, we're just firing off accusations with no merit... only confirms just how far gone you are. This really was easy to see Datt. All you had to be was a little bit open minded.
It's the zero-th time I've seen it. What is it, our last President stumble-bumbling aimlessly and being steered back on course by Dr Biden? What do you think would have happened? War with Denmark? Citizenship for cars? For Datt: Prob the first time you’re seeing it. What would have happened if she hadn’t intervened?
Truth hurts doesn't it. I would gain a little bit of respect for you if you'd just admit you were wrong and we were right, but I won't hold my breath waiting. Who is Binder? Is that an actual person or a childish nickname for someone? You wouldn’t concede an inch.
Bingo. If y’all actually thought that Trump was an existential threat to our republic, your position could have been: Look folks Biden has his moments, most 80 year olds do, and maybe there’s some age related decline cognitively and physically, but he’s still capable. Not the malarkey that Binder and the msm were spewing:
