If I've only been right here on one thing, that's still one more than you have. You bring nothing of substance. @Dahntay#1 asked you several respectable questions in his last post. But, being shifty as you are, you've dodged it, instead criticizing a part of my response to him.Any point you ever thought you had was really just telling others they proved your point for you without actually saying why anyway.
Any opinion that the majority of people would probably disagree with you on. Some examples…I don't really know what you claim as mainstream narrative. Examples?
Like, I held my nose in voting for Biden in 2020? I sorta might like Jordan Peterson and Neil Gorsuch? I think TERFs kinda have a point?
Fair. So what do we think of this interaction?
I prefer a longer, unedited version not run through one of the President's official accounts.
I don't believe any of those specifically.Any opinion that the majority of people would probably disagree with you on. Some examples…
Moon landing not being real
9/11 being an inside job
Earth being flat
Sandy Hook being a hoax
2020 election being rigged
Holocaust denial
Climate change being fake
COVID being a lie
I’m not asking you your thoughts on any of those specifically, nor am I saying I subscribe to any of them. They are merely examples to the types of mainstream “conspiracy theories” I am referring to. I feel pretty confident in saying that we both probably know where the majority of people stand on these theories. So I’m asking are there any types of theories similar to these where you have the minority viewpoint.
Things I'd like @Dattier opinion on. Not what he's read
Politicians make close to 200k a year, but become MULTI millionaires in no time sucks, shouldn't be allowed; we should get the people who make laws to make a law preventing the people who make laws from doing this
How much was our media compromised during Covid when they possibly receive big donations from Big Pharma dunno, and neither do you... 7%? eleventy-three %?
Four key states stopped counting on election night of 2020, with one candidate winning, only to wake up with the other candidate in the lead. Reasonable for many to doubt the honesty of the election? for a minute. Clear, valid explanations have been available since the minute right after that
Why are so many democrats/liberals outraged with what DOGE is doing, when it's possible we receive a nice check from their findings? You're asking that of someone who went into a low-paying profession serving the community because it aligns with his core values... I'll spend a refund check, no doubt, but is it that hard for you to understand that it's not high on my list of priorities? And that's just why the correlation you're suggesting isn't universal, to say nothing about my many issues with DOGE.
Dunno. What do we think? I have a feeling you can guess whether I like it or not. Maybe even why.Fair. So what do we think of this interaction?
tough to watch...wonder if they'd talk to the other guy that way?
I prefer a longer, unedited version not run through one of the President's official accounts.
Got it. Next, take any one of those conspiracies. You do realize that if it were hypothetically true, you’re not going to able to find out through Google, YouTube, ABC, NBC, NY Times, CNN, etc right? You’re only going to be presented with sources that go along with the mainstream narrative.I don't believe any of those specifically.
I still think something fishy went on in the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo, but that doesn't really distinguish me from a lot of people on the left. Same with many, many other LEO-involved fatal shootings/chokeholds/etc.
I think privatized prisons since President Reagan have led to influence from those privatizers packaged as "get tough on crime" initiatives and less focus on rehabilitating prisoners, which has fueled higher and higher numbers of incarcerated people and recidivists.
I don't think Oswald acted alone.
I think US interference is more responsible for the failure of many socialist/communist regimes around the world than any flaws in the principles of socialism and communism (which none of those regimes ever did for long without corruption, both internal and external).
I think open container laws are dumb and I love a road beer. If I can drink the same beer in a bar or friend's house then legally drive home, I don't see why I can't have the same amount on the way home.
I don't consider "the left" and "mainstream" to be the same, and I don't think my ideas fit into just one of them, or just both of them, for that matter. I don't pretend I'm inventing the wheel on any of those, either.
That hard to give an honest opinion, huh? You'll claim that it wouldn't be worth your time. That's fine.Dunno. What do we think? I have a feeling you can guess whether I like it or not. Maybe even why.
If Putin were taking billions and billions of U.S. dollars and disrespected the oval office, do you not think they'd talk to him that way? Do you see any fault in Zelensky for how this went down?tough to watch...wonder if they'd talk to the other guy that way?
I saw a premeditated, performative attack on Zelensky where VP Vance repeated an entire statement twice, almost verbatim, because he memorized it ahead of time. I saw our President and VP demanding that they be thanked by a man who has constantly expressed gratitude for the US's help. I didn't see any lecturing from Zelensky. I saw him get ambushed so that our President could play the tough guy for his base. That hard to give an honest opinion, huh? You'll claim that it wouldn't be worth your time. That's fine.
I am torn. I don't think it is a good look for our country. But at the same time, the point in this meeting outside of the rare earth minerals was to get to a point of agreement for a ceasefire. Zelenski thinks he can take billions of U.S. dollars with no intentions of paying it back and then lecture the leaders of America in the oval office live in TV on why he won't agree to a ceasefire. Time and a place.
If Putin were taking billions and billions of U.S. dollars and disrespected the oval office, do you not think they'd talk to him that way? Do you see any fault in Zelensky for how this went down?
How about Netanyahu? They take billions more from the US than Ukraine has even thought about. If Putin were taking billions and billions of U.S. dollars and disrespected the oval office, do you not think they'd talk to him that way? Do you see any fault in Zelensky for how this went down?
Not even apples to oranges when it comes to Israel. Nice try at whataboutism. We actual get something in return from Israel. How about Netanyahu? They take billions more from the US than Ukraine has even thought about.
Our President just took the side of a dictator who invaded a sovereign nation.
I do not agree. I do not accept that msm is beholden to some nefarious "narrative" to the point that they will not follow the story. "If it bleeds, it leads."Well, that’s exactly how it all works. Essentially you’re only being presented with sources that are to make you believe a certain narrative. So in your mind, you’re thinking “I’m being presented with all of pertinent information, so conclusion is obvious.” The problem is you’re maybe being presented with a third of the information and it would take a timely and concerted effort to actually get to the actual facts. Something that only a small percentage of people will do. They 100% understand this.
It's closer to apples and a reddish orange than the hypothetical you entertained about Putin. Not even apples to oranges when it comes to Israel. Nice try at whataboutism. We actual get something in return from Israel.
He did not take the side of Putin. He demanded respect from Zelensky who decided to take a stand against Trump's goal of reaching a ceasefire live in front of the American media. Vance was right to call him out for that. That is closed door conversation. I think they should have moved on instead of it turning into a shouting match, but Zelensky is no battered pup here.
Sen Graham is our President's lapdog. And other Republicans are calling President Trump out.Even the war mongering, USAID loving, Zelensky loving and openly gay senator from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham called Zelensky out.
They get their marching orders from the top. The journalists that we actually see are just doing what they are told. In their minds, they aren’t pushing a false narrative. I mean, you realize that most employees of Theranos and Enron had no idea that their CEOs were crooks right? They are just the “little man” doing their jobs.I do not agree. I do not accept that msm is beholden to some nefarious "narrative" to the point that they will not follow the story. "If it bleeds, it leads."
It is entirely feasible that someone outside msm would be the first to shed light on an issue that is not yet big enough to get the big dogs' attention. In fact, that's usually how it works. The local beat reporter catches a story and if it blows up, the national media start paying attention. That's how Nuke LaLoosh's career really got rolling, from his minor league days with the Durham Bulls until he got called up to MLB. But why is that beat reporter necessarily any more trustworthy and accurate? Yeah, we love the story of the earnest up-and-comer blah, blah, bootstrapping, blah, and root for the scrappy underdog against the big corporate journalism machine, but they can be compromised by their desperate attempts to make a splash just as much. I mean, look how Richard Thornburg bullied his way into the McLane household in pursuit of an exclusive interview and nearly cost Holly Gennaro McLane her life.
I am much more inclined to believe the media are getting used just like we are than to believe they're complicit in pushing false narratives for no discernible gain. And I don't think there's enough political money for them to turn their backs on a big story.
Unrelated. But it has come to my attention that almost over night, the left has replaced the word puppet with lapdog. In unison.Sen Graham is our President's lapdog. And other Republicans are calling President Trump out.
MSM tells us what they're instructed to tell us. They've been able to control the information on the internet, but several things really hurt them. Biden was one. Up until mid 2024 they had gotten away with hardly criticizing him at all. We had been watching this guy mumble, stumble, and hardly be seen for years, yet all they wanted to do was criticize Trump. Then there was the assassination attempt on Trump, and the second one that was stopped beforehand. That made more eyebrows raise. Then there's Kamala. She was nothing but a disastrous option.Got it. Next, take any one of those conspiracies. You do realize that if it were hypothetically true, you’re not going to able to find out through Google, YouTube, ABC, NBC, NY Times, CNN, etc right? You’re only going to be presented with sources that go along with the mainstream narrative.
It would be like trying to figure out who the best college basketball coach of all-time is with no prior sports knowledge. If every sports publication was run by a UNC sports fan, don’t you think they could easily put out articles and media to make uninformed sports fans think that Dean Smith is the best coach of all-time? What if they also then had the ability to make it almost impossible to find articles and statistics referencing Coach K and John Wooden? And to put the cherry on top, anyone who mentioned Coach K or Wooden is labeled a crazy person who should not be trusted.
Well, that’s exactly how it all works.
