Official game day thread- Duke at Arizona

not necessarily Chris, but we’ve seen teams have 5-6 losses in the regular season and Earn 1 seeds in the ncaa tournament.

Something more realistic, let’s say Duke goes 4-3 against the likes of Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas, Auburn, Unc, and Illinois, and they don’t have any bad losses throughout the regular season, I find it very hard to see a scenario where the committee does not give Duke a 1 seed in that scenario.

I’ve watched Kansas play twice . Two keys are , Don’t let Adams and Mayo get going and don’t let Harris control the game speed. IMO you live with Dickerson getting his stats and stop the rest . Big Pat will be needed imo this game because Kansas will want the frontcourt advantage and attempt to get both Brown and Mal into foul trouble . Michigan St almost beat them with their bench .

Kansas has that Flory big man we were recruiting at one point. He's the back up to Dickerson.
But he doesn’t worry me against Brown like Dickerson does . Flory can rebound so I’m sure that’s key these last couple of days and controlling turnovers . Kansas wants to run . Stopping them in transition is another key .
Harris doesn’t score much but is a defender . This is probably a game where Self tells his team to let Flag get his and protect the perimeter.

I think we match up well against Kansas and will win. That would be two top 15 wins in November. Beating a #1 team will be gold on selection Sunday.

Saw on social media Foster got a workout in with Tyus on Saturday. Hopefully, the insight and workout Tyus provided pays dividends for Foster and The Blue Devils!

Long time lurker and finally figured out how to create a free account.

I thought this was a very impressive road performance by our Blue Devils. Our defense and rebounding won this game, along with some timely buckets by Cooper and Kon in the 2nd half. A couple more thoughts.....
- Foster has struggled but I wouldn't switch out the starting line-up yet. Sion seems comfortable coming off the bench and his energy and defensive intensity really makes a big difference. Remember, Foster is adjusting to being the primary ball-handler, so it could take some time.
-Maluach is a major force, gives us an ELITE rim protector, and his defense/boxing out on the Arizona big was incredible. However, he can't be falling down 2-3 times a game and cramping: Arizona got a free 3 points due to this and it happened in the UK game too. I'm not worried about his goaltending issue, that can be fixed.
-I wish Evans got some burn but that was such an intense DEFENSIVE ball game that I'm not sure he was ready to be thrown into the fire. We are gonna need his scoring at some time this year though so lets hope the Kansas game is more of a transition type game where he can play.

BEAT KANSAS. Dickinson will probably get his points but we need to screen-n-roll him to death. He can't guard his own shadow, wear him out!

If Duke wins tomorrow night, Duke will move into the Top 5 in next week’s rankings.
If Duke wins they will move up one more spot lol. I do not get how they are ranking this year at all. How many teams out the top ten have jumped into the top eight after one win ?

Brown and Sion have really toughened this team up. Even Gillis, while quiet, I have noticed he bodies up on people.
