Duke is more effective in this matchup with James out there instead of Foster. Kon has been Non since the competition upgrade. Maybe the “lotto pick” slobbering from the announcers will quiet down some. Strong performance from Duke in the first overall.

I like what Scheyer said at the half. He knows we have to play even better this half to win the game. AZ will play better. Have to shoot and score better on offense and while D has been good we have to pick up the intensity to match theirs. Esp if they start going down low. Probably will be another physical challenge for Cooper.

Knueppel did great on that rebound and 3! Great hustle and shot. But he has not played well this half. He plays one on one way too much and he’s does not have the athleticism to compete that way. And he should have kicked to Sion in the corner on his drive instead of forcing the shot. Which he missed. Wasn’t as good a shot option as the open 3.

Defense has been excellent. Love our toughness. I would love to see Brown and Maliach on the court at the same time. That would be a serious defensive presence and allow Brown to use his quickness and length more effectively. And with Flagg as well? Killer. But Scheyer is so tied to coach K’s methodology with players that he can’t think in any other way.

But we have to be stronger with the ball. Always a challenge with young players. And their D has been suffocating in the second half. Saw that coming.
