Not the way to trend on twitter....

But when talking about Duke basketball players people here refer to them as kids....hmmmm same aged people...K was wrong....dig down you can admit it...he won't kick you out of being a duke fan lol
Ok let me say this in simplest terms. Anyone over the age of 18 is an adult. The journalist that for some reason you’re defending is, in fact, an adult. He is a grown man. Our players are grown men. I really hope I don’t have to explain childhood and adulthood again

Uh no - college kids are not grown men. That happens after you’ve been married have children - responsibilities - house payments etc etc.

College kids are just that - kids.
By that logic, kids are buying liquor and going to war

I was dreading watching the clip. It is hardly anything at all. Based on the headlines I was expecting an epic smackdown of the reporter. He just said basically that the loss stings and he wasn't thinking about the next step. Slight overreaction maybe, but hardly newsworthy.

Well apparently the child journalist and social media have whined enough that K called to apologize

I'm a big coach K fan, but I can see how the "I'm going to teach you something now" can rub people the wrong way. But it's still much ado about nothing.

I think this video is barely anything, but Knight probably shouldn't be our measuring stick when it comes to how we treat people.

I was literally going to say the same thing. That doesn't necessarily make it right. Knight was a complete prick.

That said, the comment by K was as benign a comment as you'd expect a frustrated coach to make. My goodness, it's not like he tore him a new one.

I really don't see the issue in this, but glad K called to apologize if he felt like he crossed a line.

I've sat in several of Coach K's press conferences. I've asked him questions - I was nervous as hell he was going to tear me a new one lol, although I made sure they were softballs.

But I've also been in those same press conferences after bad losses (See Jan 23, 2013 at Miami). I witnessed Coach K's cutting words and his "you ask me the wrong question right now and I may eat you alive" demeanor lol.

I actually walked him from the Duke locker room to the press room, and as I arrived at the Duke locker room, planned and agreed upon with than Duke men's basketball SID, Matt Plizga before the game.

When Matt looked at me and gave the unmistakably universal "don't make eye contact and don't utter a word" sign, I put my head down and walked with him to the press conference without saying a word. I think I peed my pants just a little bit along the way, too lol...

Point is, I've seen Coach K say WAY harsher comments to reporters, in person. I'm guessing because this was a student, he felt bad about his reaction. I'm sure @skeelow probably has some stories, too.

I just watched it finally, and your sentiments are 100% spot on. It wasn't necessarily a great look, but it is something no one on the planet would care about if it was anyone else.

Ks just gotten soft in his old age. His coaching reflects it too lol :)

Breaking News: Coach K once returned a VHS without rewinding!

He got snippy in the most nicest of ways possible I guess...i don’t even think it was that bad of a question, considering :| THE PEOPLE WANNA KNOW (fans) lmao

He should have not said”empathy”... 🤮 ain’t none of that for DUKE lol

What you want me to ask my questions in a way that I feel sorry for you making millions with all your accolades because you lost 1 game ....that’s why he apologized I guess lol

He should have just been upfront and honest and said the hell if I know!! 😂

Did he apologize because he felt bad or because of all the negative press?
