Kessler transferring

Guess my source was right. They said it was going to be lots of transfers from UNC this season. He’s the first domino
Why would Kessler want to transfer? hof coach roy williams has big plans for him and bacot and sharpe and black and harris and love and walton and platek and brooks and mcadoo and davis manley and brooks and farris and smith and those recruits coming in. Why would anyone ever want to leave the family ?

Dumb to go there to begin with. You’re a stretch 4/5 going to a coach who ties almost all his bigs to the post, and there’s a logjam at your position.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if he ended up at Duke now that intra-conference transfers are allowed? Didnt it come down to us and UNC when we were recruiting him?
P.S. I’m not saying he is coming to Duke, just that he *could* come to Duke.

But where would he play. His intent is to be a starter. If Williams comes back along with Banchero and the possibilty of Keels and Baldwin coming along with DJ maybe returning I see him in the same role as he was at unc plus look at him. He looks like he belongs at cheater u. He just has that heel face about him. zeller had it. hanstravel had it .big luke maye had it. Regardless of where he ends up kessler looks like a tar heel.

Yeah and if you go back long enough you can add monstross , beautiful bruce buckley, rusty clarke, tom legarde, joe and jeff wolfe they all had that look.

A huge loss for my Tar Heels. Kessler was promised that he would be used like Luke Maye. Once on campus, ol Roy wanted him to be Eric Montross. Roy is so angry and stubborn that I'm amazed every time he signs a player

RJ Davis probably should transfer. Roy's system is not designed for small guards. He is a defensive liability, and never learned his role on offense. He played more than he deserved. Anthony Harris is much better

Haven't heard that yet. Transfer or declaring for the draft? You know I just don't watch the body language of tar heel players. Maybe I should pay more attention. OFC
OFCMost of the posts on THR are like mine. Pretty civilized. No word from Gary yet. A month ago, Gary said that the transfer rumors were ridiculous. Kessler oozes potential. He was the star of UNC's comeback win against Florida State and was incredible against Notre Dame in the ACC tournament. In some games, his lack of strength was obvious. He will be a very good pro. It takes longer for Big Men to develop. I would not recruit 5 star Bigs. At most, you're going to get one great year before going pro
Seems there is a lot of smoke on social media because both of their fathers are posting vague tweets now. Also, Bacot unfollowed Carolina on Instagram apparently. Look, until anything is official this is all conjecture, but this isn't looking good for them.
I just don't get it. With Sharpe possibly leaving for the draft and Brooks more than likely not returning, he and Bacot would've been "the men" for next year. I can't stand looking at Kessler, (not his fault, he looks like a guy I know and he's a jackass), that kid was going to be a star in the baby blue next year and years to come, frankly.
I've seen several people saying he would transfer. The rumors of Love and Bacot are what has shocked me.
I'm gonna wait til none of our guys transfer to gloat.
I'm glad that Kessler announced quickly. UNC needs to get quicker and tougher. There are so many players in the portal that a decent lineup can be assembled. Roy can't wait and settle for Pierce and Keeling talent

Yeah, I am with you my dude, no gloating on my end. I had heard about there being several transfers coming for UNC. Didn't think Kessler would be one of them. The rumors of Love and Bacot are crazier though. Makes no sense to me. I don't understand these kids today at all. Why wouldn't you want to play for a HOF coach with a chance to do something special next season? Because they could be a title contender with their core staying in school and those guys would be a huge key to that. Speaking solely as a college basketball fan here, doesn't make sense to me.
Unfortunately i think this will become the trend if the NCAA keeps the transfer rules as is. Its going to affect recruiting incoming HS players too, as it may be prudent to wait on transfer annoucements until all the offers are given out. As a consequence, the fluidity of who is on your roster is going to be one of the unpredictable elements in all programs.
Everyone wants their moment to shine under the bright lights. Some just don't realize their light won't shine any brighter no matter where they are. That said, had he stayed, Kessler would've been a star at UNC next season.

After all the transfer-related shade Cheat fans have thrown at Duke over the years, I don’t feel the least bit guilty gloating.
maybe he feels that he will still be tied to the post and wants to explore a program that will undoubtedly let him be a Dirk type...?????
