I might be in the minority here, but unless it’s something really serious, I wish stuff like this wouldn’t come out. Just comes across as an excuse, I’m sure that’s not the intention, but that’s how it will be perceived. If it was/is something serious, then I apologize and wish him the best.
He has to stop with these excuses like this. He could’ve kept that to himself. Makes him look worse.
You might be in the minority, Pixel, but I'm there with you. I don't think for a second that K meant this as an excuse, but to show that his team (and himself) are not robots. There are always circumstances that we won't be aware of happening. That said, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and this is one of them. If you're well enough to walk out on the floor then do the job and don't complain, if you're not well enough, then let someone else do it.
With all this said, it's a nothingburger. If I had a microphone stuck under my nose much of my life, I'd probably make Ol' Roy look like a member of Mensa.* K's good, he's just human...like what he was trying to convey in the first place.
And don't construe that as thinking I won't give Roy (and UNC) hell every chance I get.

I don't think I have ever heard Coach K make an excuse for a loss. He's given reasons for losing like poor defense, non hustle, poor free throw shooting etc. but they weren't excuses. They were just facts. He was not feeling well and he mentioned it. It could have been anything from the flu to back pain or something else. He's human like you and me. We got beat by a very inferior team. Some say the biggest upset in college basketball history. Do we keep on dwelling on that? Our rivals wI'll do that. They won't let us forget no more than we will not let them forget their team and university are the biggest cheaters who pulled off the biggest deception in sports history. We hear a lot about being scamed by bad people and the AFAM was the biggest scam ever. We will not ever let them forget Wofford either but why are we still dwelling on Tuesday nights loss . I understand second guessing coaching decisions. I do it. It's easy to do. I'm just sitting hear in my recliner on my rear end but to constantly question Coach K every time we lose is just too much. I will and have give dachamp a like and an agreement with when warranty but to be honest I just don't get him. I have come to a point as to if he really is a Duke fan and we are being scamed or does he have such low self esteem that this is his way of feeling good about himself. I really don't know. I decided last year that I would not put any poster on ignore. I have lived by that decision because unless they don't follow the guidelines of this board they should be allowed to post. I also decided the not to reply to posters that really bother me and I tried but I have replied to dachamp when he went into "if he were the coach" post. He says he has coached basketball on a high level and was succesful. Perhaps so but he keeps this board in an uproar and I don't think it's healthy. I don't know how or if he will respond to this post. I've been pretry critical of him but whatever the case may be I am choosing to ignore him by not replying to anything he post and hope most if not all of this board does the same. If any whether it's me or anyone else gets you to the point to where all you can do is take jabs back and forth just don't reply to them. It might a good idea to just not respond to all the trolls. I know that's hard too do. Sorry for such a long post but just had to get this one off my mind. OFC

Great post Sky. I had him on ignore for probably a year, I shouldn't have took him off. I'll probably put him on ignore again. Sorry for fanning the flames.
Only thing is you can't prove me wrong hahaha. Coach K is full of excuses after losses. FACT! His coaching has fallen off the last few years....FACT!

I agree. Although, I don’t think K is saying it to make an excuse. He doesn’t like it when people pile on his kids....he’d rather they pile on him. It’s not K’s first rodeo. He’s made it known that he’s not bothered by what people who don’t know him think of him.

They don’t bother me at all. It’s the internet. I don’t know any of these people. If it was a real issue and it bothered me it would be handled like a man off the internet.
