Duke University has lost a treasure and great fan.

Dr. Charles Kernodle passed away early this week at age 102. He earned his medical degree from Duke along with several of his brothers. They established Kernodle Clinic and have been treating citizens of Burlington and Alamance County for decades and many generations. Kernodle Clinic now has several locations throughout Alamance County and Burlington. He knew and was personal friends with many former Duke coaches and current Coach K and Coach Cut. He is probably best known in Burlington as the Williams High School Bulldogs team doctor for decades as could be seen as late as last season on the Bulldogs sideline and occassional trip on the field to help attend an injured player from both teams. Well done Dr Kernodle. You will be missed. OFC

Sat beside him once at a Duke basketball game many years ago. Enjoyed our conversation. I believe he told me his family owned Kernodle Medical Clinic in Mt. Olive NC.
