wow - should be a must watch for all. Coach K thinks we are not top 5, maybe not top 25...that this team is different to the past 5 years or so, its more of an old fashion group. He stresses continual growth and tempers expectations a lot. Great insight into Tuesday also...he was sick/ill in some way...so that may have affected his demeanor ( see the thread) He points out many of the things we see so no doubt those will be addressed. One of the most open pressers I have seen in a while.
Good stuff. Not top 5, maybe not top 25? K motivating, and getting them ready for Michigan State & beyond.

I said it in the game thread but I’ll say it again here, young players lose confidence quickly. They don’t just take their lumps and come right back out. Tuesday night shook our squad.
We have the ability to be a great defense as shown earlier this year. But our on ball principles and what scenarios to double and the timing of the double need a lot of work. We see that when other teams spread us out. It’s tougher in today’s game to stay in front of a dribbler with the hand checking fouls. But it’s not impossible. We need to move our feet quicker. We need to hedge the dribbler sideways instead of continuing to let him go north to south. We have to keep the team out of the paint. It’s a lot and it can look ugly at times. But I do think our players “ can be” good defenders. I have not thought that with some recent Duke teams.
Coach K said it best, we are inconsistent. All guys have had moments of greatness and moments the other way. This is not a team that is going to plateau in November. We are going to get better. We are going to grow as a group. But it will take time.

Coach K is arguably the best psychological coach to ever coach the game (I don't even think it's arguable), so of course most of the things he says are purely to motivate.
I just get so damn sick of so many fans acting like K doesn't know what he's doing when we lose or look bad...OF F'N COURSE he knows what he's doing! Just cause these kids aren't doing things that we know they should be doing, doesn't mean K isn't trying to beat it into their brains, they just haven't been able to implement it yet. Sheesh

Cassius’ hammy tear is no good. Have we had a year recently where every starter avoided a leg injury? Zion, Cam and Bolden last year; Bagley and DeLaurier before that; Tatum and Grayson before that; Amile the season before that...
Bolden and Seth Curry also had leg injuries. Not sure if you count Harry since his were before he got here.
Agree we are top 25 but I'm not certain right now we are top 15...but who cares it's november
My whole thing (and I’ve been traveling so excuse the repetitiveness) is that there are no really good teams this year. Are we top 15-25? Sure. Are we top 5-10? Sure. Are we not? Sure. I can’t figure out who’s where and it’ll be like that for a while. Stay patient and see where the cream rises (pause).
With today’s group of Freshman and them not having a true superstar or two as in years past it’s going to be a roller coaster at times but we are definitely top 15. That’s what’s so frustrating with teenagers and why we should temper our expectations a few notches.
I would agree...with unranked Michigan winning in the Bahama's and beating 2 top 10 teams it just shows how even it is this year across the board
We’re top 15 fa sho. We have stepped up against the better competition on the schedule. We lost because of circumstances against a team we would beat 9 out of 10 times
Circumstances? By that do you mean a team that outplayed us? If so I agree...if not it's just an excuse
