    bullettoothtony, I believe you may be right. If I remember correctly, I believe that the AD at that time, Alleva, wouldn't pay G what she was probably worth and Texas would. That was sad as Coach G was a complete class act along with being a great coach.

    Loved Jackson and Searl. It was a really tough year (1971?) when injuries forced them to play offense with Searl at QB and Jackson as a RB. They did a heckuva job though.

    I have learned, over the years, to really dislike the NBA. They have really hurt college basketball while selfishly diluting their own league.I can't watch it.

    Danny Manning

    In pretty much every sport, great players very seldom make good coaches. It can happen but not very often. Usually, the bench jockeys seem to learn more about the game, strategies etc. or they may be those that run the team while playing such as PG's, QB's and Catchers.
