It feels like the “win to be in” sentiment has passed and we can focus on seeding now. VT is a bottom feeder that has already beaten us once but I feel like that won’t happen again. We get our revenge and move on to the next one

There was a good moment before today's presser with Jon Scheyer ...

The context here is that one media member, Royal Howell of Carolina Blitz, has often worn baseball hats to these mid-week press conferences and some games this season. Around half the time, Royal's hat has been a White Sox hat -- so Scheyer, a Cubs fan, has sometimes playfully given him a hard time about it. Other times it's been Dodgers or Yankees -- not exactly the most-likeable teams either (sorry to those who are fans!).

So a bunch of us planned today as baseball hat day and wore our teams' hats. Here's Scheyer's reaction when he came in:

All well and fun, a light moment as we near the end of the regular season. Sharing here because I think, in addition to being pretty funny, it gives a glimpse behind the scenes of the Duke beat. Not that people disliked covering Coach K, but things are just looser at Duke this season -- at least in the media room and with the coach/media relationships.

After an awesome win Saturday we have a quick turnaround in the cozy confines of Cameron. Game is scheduled for 7pm on ESPN with duke being an astonishing 18.5 point favorite.

Lville comes into todays game with 4 total wins… 4… are they possibly the worst high major D1 of all time? I think it has to be close for sure. For context I just googled Louisville basketball and the women’s information came up. They are however coming off a win over Clemson and a very close game to UVA. Louisville is coached by Kenny Payne in year 1, he spent time as an assistant with the Knicks, UK for 10 years, part of that as associate head coach, then some time in Oregon prior to that. Kenny played college ball at Lville and was drafted 19 in the NBA draft where he lasted a few years in the league before going over seas. Lville’s associate head coach is Danny Manning and assistant coach is Nolan Smith who will make his red debut in Cameron tonight. I’m curious to see how he is received but I hope he leaves with the worst L of his career.

This one should be a breeze but this duke team has shown nothing is for sure.. never the less I’m leaning into our Saturday was the new norm for us-

Predictions:

Dariq Whitehead stays hot from long range, hits 3+ 3s.

Dereck Lively II gets at least 5 blocks, 10 rebounds.

Jaden Schutt gets a little burn at the end and makes another late-game 3. (that's as close as I'll come to a win/loss prediction)

Duke heads north to NY to take on the orange.. Game is scheduled for a 6pm tip on ESPN. Duke is currently a 1.5 favorite at time of writing.

Syracuse is sitting at 16-10 and needs a good finish to the year to try to get in the tournament. We all know duke needs the win as well to help solidify the bid we expect. Jimmy B seems to just kinda be there and gets crankier every season, I lost all respect for him as a coach after the year he pulled that crap in Cameron. Cuse is coming off a good win over nc state and are currently on a 3 game winning streak after a 3 game losing streak. They are led by Joseph girard who leads them with a little over 16 ppg followed closely by Judah Mintz. It feels like just yesterday we were talking about Girard as a possible duke prospect and now he’s a senior. Crazy how fast time goes

I've not heard anything, but I'd lean toward Flip not playing in this one. Ankles are tricky, everybody recovers from them differently.

Gameday! Excited or nervous? I guess it depends who you are. Game is scheduled for ESPN at 4pm at JPJ and Pisgah will miss it live due to two birthday parties.. joy to be me today LOL. Virginia is favored at time of writing by 6points

We all know what to expect from UVA.. exceptional defense, add that to our scoring troubles and droughts we might not score 30 points. This is our opportunity to get our biggest win of the season in a hostile environment. Can we rise to the occasion? Virginia is coached by a national champion, and arguably one of the best coaches in the game so I have no doubt they will be ready for us. One thing of note we do historically have a lot of success against UVA at least since they’ve been good we haven’t had any Miami, nc state, vt moments against them

Prediction-
Tough tough game to follow Miami but my hope is Jon has them ready.. that being said I don’t see a win on the road against a really solid team

His draft stock has plunge completely even though he is getting better . This is usually a good sign a player could stay another. Maybe, wishful thinking but there is a reason for it.
Flip is climbing up the draft boards, Dariq and Lively are dropping. Some team will take a flier on Dariq, but not lottery.
