Basketball transfer tracker

Something new this season.

Because it's inevitable this comes up, I'll post and pin this thread to track how Duke's transfers are playing this season. It's going to be heavily focused on guys who were on Duke's roster last season because, well, do you really think of Jaemyn Brakefield and Henry Coleman III as former Duke players? (before you ask, yes, they're still playing college basketball)

So, here's the list of the transfers out of Duke from last season's roster and where they're playing this season, broken up by conference:

Jeremy Roach - Baylor
**********
Mark Mitchell - Missouri
**********
Christian Reeves - Clemson
Jaylen Blakes - Stanford
Jaden Schutt - Virginia Tech
TJ Power - Virginia
**********
Sean Stewart - Ohio State

Job Well Done Preparing Your Team for Auburn Tonight. Love the Defense your team is playing this early in the season. It was a Very Balanced Team Win Tonight and the Best The Blue Devils
have played so far in the early part of the season.

2-2 against the likes of Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas, and Auburn in the first 5 weeks of the season? I’ll take it! Looking Forward to continuing watching the Growth of These Blue Devils!

Week 14 - Duke-Wake Forest - Noon o'clock, 11/30

Final regular-season week for Duke brings a chance to sweep Tobacco Road.

Duke goes to Wake Forest this week. The Deacons have lost 3 straight games and are all but assured of missing a bowl game for the second straight season (after making one from 2016-22). Wake's offense has been marginally better than it was last year, not by enough to get excited (or worried) about. And its defense has been gouged through the air -- though it played decent for 3 quarters against Miami this past weekend.

Programming note: I'll be there with full coverage. Obviously a busy day for yours truly; as most of you know, I run the Wake Forest site as well.

ICYMI, here's the link from Duke's win over VT on Saturday night.

last of the gauntlet games. Can we win and finish .500? Or do we lose and have a lot less impressive pre conference? Either way we will be better for it come March I believe

Bruce Pearl comes in to Cameron for the first time to my knowledge, as (to me) one of the best coaches in the nation. Auburn is 7-0 ranked #2 with impressive wins over Houston, Carolina, Iowa State and Memphis.

Duke coming off a fairly lackluster game against Seattle U and a heartbreaking loss against KU is looking for possibly our signature win for the season.

Auburn is a 2.5 point favorite

I can’t go against our boys, I think we get the big time Dub

Game 7 - Seattle-Duke - 7 p.m., 11/29

First of all, happy Thanksgiving!

And onto basketball matters ... here's the preview for Duke's game against Seattle on Friday night.

Programming: I'll be there with full coverage.

Predictions:

- Caleb Foster scores at least 12 points but comes off the bench; Sion James starts.

- Duke makes under 10 3-pointers but scores over 80 points.

- Duke commits less than 10 turnovers.

Duke takes on the number one team in the land.. the Kansas tar hawks. We are currently a 3.5 point favorite. Kansas is undefeated on the year with their best win coming against Carolina. Bill self is considered the best in the business and it’s always fun going up against that

If mal can stay on the floor and no other unexpected injuries we TCB and lay the hammer down on numero uno

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hi Folks! Just wanted to take a moment to wish all the Duke fans throughout the country a great Thanksgiving. Hope you are all enjoying your families today and have plenty of good food. I would also like to wish the Duke BB team and the Coaching Staff, of which I am very proud of, the best of this Holiday.
As we move forward with the season, I just want everyone to know that if this young group stays healthy, especially as the season nears Tourney time, and they connect as a team, I think their chances are as good as anybody in the country! That's right, I said it. Forget about the tough losses (to very good teams I might add) early on, Jon and Staff will figure it out and these kids will only get better.
So please stay behind Jon, his Staff, and this team, because they are going to make some noise come Tourney time!
God Bless you all and remember, "It's Gonna Be OKAY!"

Week 13 - VT-Duke - 8 p.m., 11/22

Duke comes out of its off week with a couple of games left and a legitimate chance to finish the regular season with 9 wins.

Think back to what you thought of this team in August and how quickly you would've signed up for a 9-win season.

Duke is home for Senior Night against Virginia Tech this weekend. Both teams are 3-3 in the ACC; the difference in records is because Duke went 4-0 in non-conference games and VT was 2-2. The story of VT's season has been losses in one-score games; the Hokies are 0-4 in games decided by a touchdown or less.

Programming for this one is ... TBD. I think I'll be there in person. But that's kinda tentative right now.

After a near week break we return to action for our 2nd ranked opponent in 3 games. The Arizona wildcats are 2-1 on the season with a fairly convincing loss to Wisconsin. The wildcats return everyone’s favorite guard.. especially Deja Kelly- Caleb love!! Arizona is coached by Tommy Lloyd in his 4th season

Duke is currently a 1.5 point favorite and I have a feeling we play well enough to win. I think we’ll look rough in the first half- at least the first 10 min and might even get a visit from koach but we right the ship and leave the desert with a W

Tyus Jones's future

I just listened to Stones on the Offseason podcast. He is an incredibly bright young man. I've been trying to sell Tyus as a future top 5 point guard in the league here on DI, and no one has been buying. I can understand the reticence.

Now Minnesota has finally dealt Rubio and added a lockdown defender and scorer in Butler. My theory all along is that Minnesota was intentionally underusing Tyus to ensure they could resign him for pennies. His 'per 40 minutes' stats are already fantastic and he just drank his first legal beer last month. I will continue to portend the second coming of John Stockton. I think two years from now Minnesota will be starting Tyus, Butler, Wiggins, (some free agent shooter forward) and Towns.
