FINAL FOUR BOUND

Our guards weren’t as tough and good defensively as they are this year when we beat them last year. Shead was better than uzan and he was 1-5 before injury. Stat wise Cryer and sharpe look the same. We can beat them.
Was thinking the same thing. Plus last year I think the game was played in Dallas with this one in SA so the home court stuff not really sweating.

Cryer is an excellent player but was abusing McCain last year. Roberts is phenomenal and an unpopular take is that I think he will have his way with Mal who generally was struggling 1-on-1 with good post players (assuming we keep Coop as weak side help). Pat doesn’t take any s**t but I think Maliq Brown, if he can handle it, would be an absolutely luxury to have. Literally the perfect counter to someone like Roberts. That Milos is such a great pickup by Coach Sampson but I’m curious how he handles a more physical, bigger guard with more length. Can’t remember who that Mashack kid from Tenn was guarding yesterday but a decent comp to what we have.

Jon also gets a full week to prep (as does Houston). Another luxury since they are insanely difficult to prep for.

I think it is ok to be a critic of some of his adjustments during games. He is in year 3 of a 40-year contract. Yes, I said 40 years. Jon will be here for a while. We were all critical of K at times during his tenure. I think it is ok to be critical of him but I don't think I have ever read a post here that he was bashed. Just think...in 5 years Jon will have more Nattys than Dean. Take it to the bank.
I agree with all of this. If he wins it this year he has a significant head start on what will be a historic career

From what I understand. Someone, sounds like Waltz, had a severe lapse in judgment and competence and should probably resign. That said, though it represents an embarrassing level of incompetence, it was nowhere near the risk to national security that the left and the MSM is making it out to be. Thankfully.
thanks...and glad it didnt turn bad, but it did have the possibility, did it not?, by being transmitted the way it was and not through the normal protocols and channels?

well you were only clear about the leaker being accountable...so i am guessing you are only talking about the journalist?....well I dont believe it was a disaster, so...and I didn't defend anything, actually I wasn't contributing...and so far now, I only asked what yall think about the Signal mess...I didn't point any fingers

I thought I was pretty clear about what I said. Whoever is behind this needs to be held accountable. I'm not making excuses, this should never have happened.
I don't remember you being critical at all the last 4 years though. And believe me, it was 4 years of disaster. But when you did show up, it was to make excuses for what was going on.

Life was definitely better for black people under Jim Crow. Look at where the black community was then compared to now. Democrats started to destroy the black community in the 60s and it never recovered.
Patrick Moynihan tried to warn people in the govt about welfare’s impact on the Black nuclear family , but no one wanted to hear it.

“Maluach… is a carnival of terror” 🤣

Great article. The only way forward was for him to put his own stamp on the program and he has. I’m sure K advised him to do exactly that, too.

Your favorite movie is “Song of the South,” isn’t it? You think Samuel L Jackson’s character in “Django Unchained” is an inspiration for employees who wanna pull themselves up by their bootstraps, don’t you?
Yes!! The white liberal savior showing up to save the day! What poor defenseless black people are on your list this week to save so you can redeem your virtue signaling points @Dattier?

FINAL FOUR BOUND

Just read that Jay Bilas said that Florida is the most formidable team in the final four because of their guards and depth. Prior to the Alabama game Seth Greenberg said well who did Duke play in this tournament? I continue to hear that SEC teams are battle tested. While this may all be true it’s a bit much. Florida escaped UCONN and Texas Tech. Let’s see what happens hoping for the best.
We were battle-tested in the first half vs Incarnate Word, weren’t we?

The coaching of Jon Scheyer

I (like most) were a bit worried about Jon's passive demeanor during games, I remember in year 1 when we got robbed at UVA (Flip got fouled before the buzzer) and Jon didn't go crazy at the refs. K would have had a field day. Jon's offensive sets and playcalls were also questionable, even this year, remember in early December when we scored 28 points in the first half against Incarnate Wood? What about scoring 68 total against George Mason? Not to mention the end of game "clear out and let Cooper do it all" play calls against UK and Kansas.

Regardless...Duke obviously made the right hire. The Nov/Dec growing pains were worth it to get to the monster that we currently are. Offensively and defensively, seems like Jon is playing chess while other coaches are playing checkers.
