But Mommy he called them dumb first. You’re the one who brought their intelligence to the fore. I was going to go with indoctrinated
Uhhh... if you factually called or implied someone is dumb first... and I let that slide... then you try to call me on doing the same thing (ie, telling "mommy"), a "but mommy" response is entirely warranted and logical. Repeat: I didn't whine about it until you whined about my doing it while ignoring that you did the same thing.

Look, if we're going to sling mud here, fine. I'm game. If not, also fine. But don't initiate it, then complain that I'm playing the game the same way.

The "tell me this without telling me this" thing is getting overused here. Also, why are we being weird with a Ben Shapiro video? What's the gain? I don't need to watch the video to know that he dominated Harris supporters. Because Harris supporters are mindless sheep who can't articulate their reasons for supporting her. Mainly due to the fact that there isn't an objective reason to support her to articulate.

I like the Shapiro debates on the history of Palestine and Israel. A lot of the people he debates on that subject provide good thought and knowledge. Of course on most aspects, they both can't be right. I tend to agree with Shapiro, not just because he is a conservative, but because he is more convincing to me. I haven't watched too many of his videos involving American Politics.

This isn't a debate, but I found it to be a solid breakdown on the history of Israel/Palestinian conflicts.

Yes, well, apologies for using that format twice in 24 hours.

I think conservatives would genuinely enjoy the Ben Shapiro video. My question is whether you would acknowledge any appreciation for anything said by anyone else, as I have clarified a couple times now. I mean, geez, it would almost qualify as a moral victory for y'all to admit he beat them 134-1 because you'd at least be admitting they scored a single point, which is more than most of you ever offer.

Thanks for the video rec. I might get around to it. I trust Shapiro's intellect and knowledge. I do not trust his objectivity. I suspect I would find the video informative, but not as convincing as you do.

All the countries surrounding Israel want to destroy it. It’s hard to have a conversation about Israel without acknowledging their unique situation It’s also difficult to discuss the topic seriously when one side throws around words like genocide and apartheid without knowing what they mean. Occasionally, you’ll find an Islamist or Leftist who has some clue about Israel’s recreation in 48 but not often.
67% of historical Palestine is now the state of Jordan. Gaza and the West Bank ( Judea and Samaria) are majority Arab and Israel is majority Jewish. Yes many Arabs were expelled or voluntarily left in 48 after the armies of the Mid East lost the first of many wars to Israel.
The Arabs were offfered a state in 48 along with another state which is now called Jordan. The Arabs got most of the land, Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran once, and they still responded with war.
You hear a lot of talk of occupation from Obama and his ilk. He knows full well Hamas has run Gaza since 2006. So when you hear the Left talk of occupation, this is code for expel the Jews from the only country they haven’t already been kicked out of. Expel if they’re lucky that is. Many would receive a crueler fate. Meanwhile Muslims in Europe are chanting that Jews “ go back to where they come from”. I’m a little confused as to where that is since Muslims also claim Jews have no religious or historical ties to Israel.

Tell me you're projecting and a hypocrite without telling me you're projecting and a hypocrite.

And calling The Lounge -- which you post in way more than I do -- a "basketball message board" in order to dismiss my point is disingenuous.

*Edit: I don't actually know that you post here more than I do. I withdraw that aside.
Aside? It was your entire post.
Your tell me gibberish is no longer worth reading

It’s true that most racists likely hate rap music, but hating rap music doesn’t make you a racist. I’ve talked to several middle aged and older Blacks who feel it is one of the worst things to ever befall the Black community: the world’s out to get us, violence is justified, women are trash, manhood is proven by how many whores you bang, etc None of it seems particularly helpful to becoming successful in our society
Again, you are referring to a specific subset of rap music.

Congratulations on talking to several middle-aged and older Black people (or any, really). It's anecdotal. I don't think you're tall enough to ride the respectability-politics-clash-within-the-Black-community discussion.

The New Lounge

...it gave you another chance to type condescending, insulting things on a basketball message board.
...they’re too dumb to know that. That’s the entertaining part.

Yeah. I know. That's why I said it. I'm not curious about whether you think they're dumb. I'm curious whether you are capable of thinking anything but that about any of them.

And you responded 8 minutes after I posted a link to an hour and 40 minute video, so I doubt you even pushed play yet. You're working from nothing but your preexisting bias.
I was going to run some errands with family soon when we get ready. But I better tell them to hold their horses for a couple of hours, as I have an important video to watch posted on a message board.

I’m sorry I didn’t watch your video, snowflake, I’ll try to do better next time. I’ve seen plenty of Shapiro takedowns. I get the gist Sensitive Sally. But, on the bright side, it gave you another chance to type condescending, insulting things on a basketball message board.
Like what was said recently by Mac I think it was, it may be time to tap out and let the other one take the reins for awhile

The New Lounge

Of course some dont belong in the same room with Shapiro. But they’re too dumb to know that. That’s the entertaining part.

You brought up racism here. I confirmed that certain criteria likely was an indication of racism.

There is a difference between being reactionary and just responding. If you criticize something illogically or unjustly, expect to get called on it. Loud, profane music in public annoys me, too. It's rude. I'm not going to spiral off into tangential criticism of culture and claim it is a sign of why society as I want it is falling apart, etc. That's what I saw in your post, and I made a pretty freakin mild joke about your being curmudgeonly. And not without empathy, actually. At 52, I know I have some of that in me, too.

I don't consider many people here particularly reflective, including you, so when you claim something is racist, sexist, and vulgar, I'm skeptical of your assessment of all three. Thank you for clarifying that you're not saying this about all rap.

Login to view embedded media Ben Shapiro more than holds his own against 25 liberals (one at a time). I disagree w/ every stance he took in this video, but he's a knowledgeable and skilled debater who was almost entirely polite and respectful.

I'm curious whether anyone here would see it as anything but a complete domination and shutout in his favor. Like, there were a few people who had no business being in the same room, but I wonder if any of y'all would even distinguish between them.

That’s your schtick in trade: calling other people racist and behind the times. That’s what governs you on the Left. This is what I was referring to when I called you and your ilk reactionary. If we criticize something, you knee jerk defend it: even racist, sexist, vulgar rap music. Obviously not all of it meets this criteria, but a large % of it does.
