Slippery slope? Yawn.

School librarians make professional decisions based on discretion and merit. I'm going to respectfully trust that you actually know the difference between visual pornography and an explicit text.
He said "why stop there?" Indicating that he is aware of the difference that you speak of. So where does it stop for you, datt. What crosses the line in your opinion?

The New Lounge

I said there's a wide range of development between the kid in your video and the oldest kids in the school.
I said it is between a kid and their parents what the kid reads.
I said it's no parent's right to decide what other people's kids get to read.

It's not grooming. Not at all.

I didn't weigh in on the book whatsoever.

Is it acceptable for this book to be in a public library? A bookstore? What's the difference between an 11-year-old activist seeking it out there?
It is not appropriate or acceptable for it to be available for anyone under the age of 18 to be able to get it from a public library, let alone a school library. Book stores shouldn't be able to sell it to minors. A book meant for minors about minors participating in sexual acts between two boys is 100% grooming. Sick fvcks.

The New Lounge

These people are sick. To justify a book portraying boys giving each other blowjobs, he says that there are 14 year olds in that school as well. As if it is appropriate for 14 year olds. But there's no grooming going on, not at all.

We are living in the era of college basketball where we just need to expect that top programs will lose their top 5-7 players to the draft or transfer and reload the following year. We are going to see some players leave and shake our heads. It happens. The anomalies are few and far between....see Proctor. I agree with Mac, it's about winning THIS year, and figure next year out after this year. Kids have lots of influencers guiding them, for better or worse.

Will we see a deep bench this year? It seems we ask that most years. Under K I would be very skeptical. I will admit that this particular year sure does seem like a year where we could go 10 deep. But the reality is that it goes against the grain of every Duke season in the past 25+ years.

With that said, I do think this team is special and is oozing potential perhaps more than any in recent history. Barring injury or serious dissent in the locker room, I really think this is a very strong national championship contender. Won't be easy, nothing is certain, but the parts are all there. We have top recruits, a couple veterans, and some beast transfers. Dang it's good to be a Duke fan.

At first glance I’m a bit worried about how to play everyone. Give the freshman enough burn to come back for next year. Only 3 recruits so far. At least 3 players will be gone off current roster. Maybe return about 7 guys, add the freshman and no need for too many transfers.
Play the 5 th year guys enough to see what they can do but since they will be leaving anyway don’t waste okaying time on them until the ACCT.
This can’t work. There are no guarantees anymore. A kid could play 15-18 minutes a game and still leave. It’s all about winning now.

From the same crowd who says "thoughts and prayers" after every school shooting and won't support any common sense gun laws.

The kid is 11 and he is at a middle school, which means he's in 6th grade, and that there are 14-year-old 8th graders at the same school. That's a wide range of development. Whether that kid reads that book or not is a decision to be made between him and his parents. It is not their decision what other kids read. And it's available in the school library. It's not required reading in their ELA class.

The availability of a book is not indoctrination.
So you’re cool with an 11 year old reading that? Good to know.

Why stop there? Put Hustler and Penthouse in middle school libraries and let the kids and parents decide. Do you even hear yourself?

Absolutely disgusting. The fact there are adults and TEACHERS supporting that crap is beyond disturbing.

Leave the F'n kids alone! As the man in the video said, there shouldn't be any sexualized books gay, straight whatever.
This is indoctrination plain and simple.

What seven guys return is my question?
Mal, Flagg, Kon, one of Proctor or Foster to the draft and maybe Evans depending on how he plays on a limited role .
Sion and Gillis are out of eligibility.
Returning might be Foster, Big Pat, Brown and Harris . Maybe Evan’s and the kid from rice .

I was at a wedding on Sunday and missed the game. Can't believe someone would schedule a wedding against a Duke preseason game.

I watched the first half last night knowing that Duke got hot in the second half. I was very impressed with the way the guards pushed the ball up court. Foster is playing great (I really thought people were sleeping on him. He was starting when he got hurt last year). Flagg definitely struggled on offense and he may be finding his way as to what he can do now that he isn't physically dominant anymore. He'll get there I'm sure.

Maluach is better than I expected, definitely aggressive and the guys were looking for him more on Sunday than they were against Lincoln. That's a great sign.

I think we will be very good shooting team this year but with the defense and ability to push the ball, we can survive when the shots aren't falling. I think we'll do well enough to get a 1 or 2 seed which should allow us to get to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 on talent and effort alone and then maybe win the crapshoot to go further.
