I'm sure it has been mentioned in previous threads, but thought I would ask anyways since I'm a bit lazy :). So who are the main targets for Duke for 2020 and which targets are the ones that are expected to pick Duke in the end? I know we have Roach right now and it sounds like we lead for Jalen Johnson, I just wanted to know the other names I need to focus on :).

Whoever hof coach roy williams turns down. We've done pretty good in picking up his scraps. Not just anyone can play for hof coach roy williams , the family and live up to the carolina way. OFC

You're absolutely correct with this statement! Playing for HOF Coach Roy Williams is a tall task and long term commitment.

Jalen Johnson
Walker Kessler
Mark Williams
Those are who I think Duke definitely lands.
Not sure about Boston, or Camron Fletcher and it sounds like Cade Cunningham is of the table.

Anyone notice on the CB that uk is losing ground on Boston and Duke seems to be gaining it back? Anyone have info?

I think we'll end up with a good class but I'm getting a bit concerned about Carolina. They've offered what seems like half the top 30 or 40 and from what I've read and heard they're strong with more than a couple of them. They could end up with the best class they've had in a long time.

Which surprises me frankly. I mean Coby White was good but how could Nas Little not be a cautionary tale, in addition to the fact that everyone knows most of their top recruits usually take much longer to get to the NBA than other schools.

Cole Anthony committing may have taken off a lot of the residual stigma or something, I don't know.

They are still the biggest cheaters in the history of the NCAA and all the commits that decide to go there are going to be part of that cheating family. That dirt is still under the rug and always will be there . Nothings gonna change that. No matter how many games they win, no matter how many championships they win, no matter how succesful they may become they got away with the biggest and most well planned schemes in history. There are many people that have gotten away with major crimes without even a slap on the wrist and live their lives as if nothing ever happened but it still happened. I won't forget and will take every opportunity to make sure whoever reads post like tissue are reminded of it and never forget. Should any of my grandchildren have the talent to play NCAA sports and they are offered a full ride to unc cheater u I will make sure they know where that dirt is. It will be their decision of course but they will know. OFC

Hope he does commit to Duke today or tomorrow. If he does it will be the second leg of a monster class.[/QUOTE

When did hof coach roy williams turn him down. I wonder how it feels to be one of the top high school players in the country gets a call from hof coach roy williams and he tells you that you are not the type of player we want or need. You are not a good fit to be part of the family and never will know what it feels like to do it the carolina way. OFC

So let Pay Pal Cal continue to throw subliminals at Duke and K is gonna stay on his throat on the recruiting trail!

Don’t respond to that puppy K, keep beating him at his own game!

Roy said once you get a taste of cheating it’s hard to go clean.

A taste. He's been eating off that plate since he's been back at cheater u and the plate had fed a bunch before then. OFC

I wanted him more than anyone. He’s a monster. Would love to get Brandon Boston too. This class could be gigantic..

Final 4 is in Indy that year. Just sayin..

Is this the 1st. Johnson to ever play for Duke? I know the cheaters have a few. OFC

My info the last month has been that it us and Auburn for both Boston and Kessler. Seems like it’s us and UVA for Mark Williams. Finally, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Patrick Baldwin JR reclassify from the 2021 class into the 2020 class. Think there’s a reason that we aren’t heavily after any of the top SFs in the current 2020 class.

Isn’t Patrick Baldwin the number one player in the 2021 class?

There have been whispers of that move for a bit. Patrick would be a perfect addition to this class as a PF/SF and would offer something this group would use well, which is a knock down stand still shooter. Floor spacing will be at a premium, especially if Duke doesn’t land Boston.

Cunningham and Johnson can hit the shot, but both are better suited to be able to move with the ball. Baldwin (and Joey) would be a kick out floor spacing specialist.

I’m hoping it happens, especially with Banchero looming out there in the space.

High jumper extraordinaire.

You're thinking of Steve Johnson. Patrick Johnson was a 6-9 walk-on Georgian. He did not even play high-school basketball but provided emergency depth for Shelden Williams.

Steve Johnson was also a walk-on.

Dick Johnson was a rotation guard in the early 1950s.

Jim Sumner as I recall Patrick was a pretty tough guy.,Seems like he wore one elbow pad, and handled some out of bounds throw-ins....You will know for sure, thats just best as this old mind remembers. Hope you had a nice 4th!
