That's right Dekker was about 70%, it said in the post game notes that he was hampered by a sprained ankle. We switched like crazy during the game, which the Badgers didn't really expect and gave them fits. There were a number of times where Quinn switched and found himself being posted up by Kaminsky or guarding Dekker on the perimeter. We also used a number of different defenders on Dekker, including Justise for large stretches of the second half, as well as Jones, Quinn and Sulaimon.
If Justise puts the glove on Dekker, there's a good chance we will win. We might even be okay if Dekker goes for 25 or so, as long as we can limit their shooters like Koenig and Jackson. In the first game, Jackson hit a number of open threes. It'll be interesting to see how many minutes he will get tomorrow night.
We were also great at helping on Kaminsky and recovering to get back out on the perimeter shooters when he kicked it out. There were a few times when the triple team got to Kaminsky real quickly and he lost the ball or made a bad pass due to the pressure.
Not having Sulaimon hurts because of his on-ball pressure and his ability to defend Wisconsin's big men. But Jackson isn't fully recovered from his foot injury and isn't the same player he was in December. Allen's play tomorrow night on the defensive end will be huge. Jones and Allen are filling the minutes that were occupied by Sulaimon and both will have to be disruptive against the Badgers' bigs on switches.
On the other end, Okafor can score at will against Kaminsky down low. We need to constantly feed the post and go through him on offense. He might even be able to get Kaminsky in foul trouble. In Game 1, Okafor probably could have finished with 20 if he didn't get two fouls early in the first half. I can see him going for about 22 and 15. Wisconsin hasn't been great on D throughout the tourney. They're on this run because Dekker is carrying his team on his back and because they've had stretches where they haven't missed from beyond the arc. If they decide to double and triple Okafor, we will get tons of open looks. I think we'll win by four or five in a tight, well-played game.
