Who's going to replace Coach K?

Who are you referring Capel to being a better recruiter over?

I think experiences aren’t gonna matter. K will have a big say in who replaces him and I do think when you look at the bench you see the next coach and coaching staff. Nolan didn’t turn down the Memphis job for nothing.
I just don’t see Capel leaving Pitt after putting forth the effort to build his brand of basketball to come back to Duke and take on the pressure of filling K’s shoes.
I think Capel would leave Pitt in a heartbeat if Duke offered him the job. Remember, it won't be this year. We are talking a few years from now. But I also think he would take the job right away if given the opportunity.

If we struggle again next year this may turn into a very appealing job with huge upside. :)

He’s locked in to his contract until 2025 , right. Capel would be my second choice and given that’s K’s grandson graduates in what 2024? I can see K stepping down and Capel coming . However I think the four on the bench now either way remain .

There's no such thing as locked in with coaching contracts if a team can afford the buyout. That said, it's too far away from now to know how this may go

Scheyer.

I like Scheyer for the job. Whether the new AD does I can't say.

Who exactly has he gotten to come to Pitt?

Scheyer has been one of the lead recruiters at Duke especially since Capel left.
I am comparing what Capel did in recruiting while at Duke to what Scheyer is doing now. Capel's Duke recruiting was an important factor in him getting an HC job. Besides, recruiting at Pitt, especially after its dismal performance for years prior to Capel's arrival there, is way harder than recruiting for Duke and K. Given what Capel had to start with, I think he is recruiting very well so far. I also think that while Capel was at Duke, he was less dependent on K's presence in attracting recruits. I am not saying that Scheyer is not doing a good job, just that Capel is and was a better recruiter. Just my opinion, with which there is certainly room for debate. OFC.

Dixon did great for Pitt, no one could help they hired ol boy from Vanderbilt ( I think it was) and the entire team jumped ship prior to Capel taking the job and having to get players to stay. I just remember a lot of people said Dukes recruiting would fall off after Capel left for Pitt but it never did and a lot of that is Scheyer who was noted as being one of the better up and coming recruiter and coaches in college ball.

As long as K is there, I do not think that Duke's recruiting will fall off no matter who the recruiting assistant is.

I’m an outsider so you probably don’t want to hear what I have to say but , I cannot fathom that Capel would not leave Pitt for Duke .
