Would love to show Cal and the hick fans in Arkansas that Duke still owns Calipari. Doesn’t matter where he runs to.I feel like we’ll get Arkansas at home
Onyenso is visiting K-State this weekend. Hopefully, they land him and that keeps UNC front court small.Hunter Sallis returning to Wake is big. As is the Kentucky center Onyenso that UNC wants pulling out of the draft. And Coleman Hawkins plans to transfer as per DBR.
I'm going to miss that kid's defense. His offense was a bit unpredictable at times, however, we all knew defensively he was a bulldog.Someone was mentioning that staying in the draft until late and then having desperate teams bid for you is a good financial decision.
Blakes to Stanford. That's 4 transfers from Duke to other ACC schools.
As for me I’ll miss Blakes he just seemed like a good kid . That said out of the transfers . Him and Roach are always good in my book they graduated from Duke .Blakes is a good student so Stanford seems like a good fit for him. I don't know enough about them to know if he will start, but he will likely play, my guess is off the bench. You never want to lose guys, but Sion is a big upgrade, so even if he stayed I think Sion would have been recruited here. It sounds like this was his plan as of last year.
Glad for both of them both good students and have bright futures for sure.As for me I’ll miss Blakes he just seemed like a good kid . That said out of the transfers . Him and Roach are always good in my book they graduated from Duke .
As I recall, Blakes was signed very late in the recruiting season and was not high up on our recruiting board However, we were not deep at the guard position, and he had the stones to give Duke a try. Predictably, it did not turn out for him. His effort and defense cannot be faulted, but we needed to fill his spot with a more offensibly talented player, which (I hope) is what we did. Wish him the very best. Stanford seems like a very good fit. OFCSomeone was mentioning that staying in the draft until late and then having desperate teams bid for you is a good financial decision.

They definitely whiffed on portal bigsFormer Kentucky big man Ugo to K State. Glad UNC did not get him.
Hey . Fans want border line NBA picks to stay in college. Now they will . Just to the highest bidder . I’m not mad at the kid . If you’re not a first round pick and a two way contract ( especially if you never see the NBA floor ) is only 560,000 yet a college team is willing to pay you 2 million for a year . Take it .Coleman Hawkins’ Historic NIL Deal Could Deplete the Second Round of the NBA Draft
Coleman Hawkins has dominated headlines in June. When the four-year University of Illinois forward withdrew from the upcoming 2024 NBA draft in late May, he inswww.si.com
Pay the players, they cried.
What about if you get injured or if the coach benches you for missing practices ? Do you get fined or NIL held back for not being able to play ? Pros have it done to them . Will the NCAA now start fining for techs? What about players arguing with refs ? What about if you miss practice and don’t play but you got a 2 million nil deal due to your play on the court ? Crazy questions I know but I can’t be the only person thinking the NCAA won’t find a way to financially penalize players.Double NIL for a final four. Triple for a natty. Give half back if you miss the tourney.

That's kind of what I was talking about when I posted the article about the Illinois player transferring to Kansas State Shey. Why would I be mad at the kid? Of course they should take the $$. I don't blame Roach one bit. Plus, he gave Duke four years. What about if you get injured or if the coach benches you for missing practices ? I agree with you Mac . I remember the days when players hit the floor and wanted to out show the top NBA picks. The upper classmen who put the three to four years into a program . That’s what people forget made March so great . The heart of the under dog . Coming in and beating top seeds . Players you never heard of showing out . Your team laying it all on the line like when Scheyer got that pass and threw it behind him so the clock would run out against Baylor in 2010. The Grayson Allen’s that came out of no where against Wisconsin and put the fire back into his team !That's kind of what I was talking about when I posted the article about the Illinois player transferring to Kansas State Shey. But that wasn't my point. I'm talking about the madness that College basketball is becoming.
