It’s not a popularity contest. It’s about who can run the largest city somewhat competently without turning it into even more of a sh show than it already is. NYC has 1.3 m Jews. This ain’t London with just a couple hundred k if that many. No Jew zones will be more problematic in NYC to a population that played a huge role in creating one of the greatest cities in the world. The potential for disaster on many fronts is extremely high.
If thousands of white nationalists called for the murder of Blacks every weekend, it would be rightly shut down as incendiary rhetoric, First Amendment could kick rocks.
This mayor has refused to condemn genocidal chants that may rhyme and be trendy but unfortunately call for the murder of Jews, yes even the ones who hate Netanyahu and have never served in the IDF.

So you’re claiming now that Bloomberg and Guiliani weren’t seen as competent, effective mayors? You’re rewriting history with Rudy, using post mayoral infractions to besmirch his time as mayor. After 9/11 he was most likely the most popular mayor in US history and only later tarnished his legacy by getting in bed with Trump.

Does the drug court program you reference mean users don't go to jail? I'd like to see addiction categorized as a mental health crisis to the point that it's not even related to court. I would like for distribution of certain drugs of certain quantities to remain criminalized.
Since we're talking about NY where marijuana is legal and you and I both live in NC, which remains one of 11 states that doesn't even allow medical marijuana, I have to ask: What do you think about the legal status of marijuana and what would you like to see in NC?
