It’s important to note because a month ago, you claimed the left, msm, Democrats, Antifa, or whatever bogeyman you wanted to wag your jowls about was lying about Gaetz. I told you then the apology in the clip you shared then and shared again today and clearly still don’t understand was a CYA move that in no way exonerated Gaetz or demonstrated his innocence. Maybe I missed something on Gaetz. The last I remember hearing was he was wrongfully accused, which was around the time The View had to make a public statement. If he is guilty then he deserves whatever punishment comes his way, and I’m wrong to have thought he was innocent. I honestly haven’t heard anything lately.

No. He was never wrongfully accused. The View apologized b/c they had no actual proof themselves and didn't want to get sued. He was never innocent and that's not what their apology said. I told you that then and you still didn't get it. You don't understand anything more complex than a hammer.

I really don't have any beef with you over Rep Gaetz. The bipartisan Ethics Committee found credible evidence that he committed statutory rape... but The View coming right out and saying he raped a girl when they personally had no proof crossed a line their channel didn't want to mess around with. I wouldn't call that a "false allegation" at all, just one they would've had a difficult time defending if they were sued.
It's a pretty standard choice in such incidents; retractions/apologies are issued all the time because of minor discrepancies. It speaks to mac's ignorance and inexperience with anything beyond the blandest of black & white thinking that he thought that was such a homerun for the right, and he was so aroused by it he tried to act like Gaetz was suddenly heroic.
