In the spirit of respecting your conviction but not your actual beliefs -- the best you've extended to me -- a subjective thing I personally find personally odious about conservatives is -- personally speaking -- how they never seem (in my personal observation) to have any empathy for anything outside their personal experience until it affects someone they care about. In my personal opinion and in my personal observation, they rarely express any empathy for anyone (again, in my personal opinion) other than what affects them.

Empathy isn’t exclusive to how a person aligns politically. I somewhat agree with you on many seeming to only care when it personally affects them though. That’s a sad characteristic of us being spoiled in this country. I know of a couple people back in 2019 that said they’d vote for Biden if it meant getting things back to “normal.” My eyes went cross. We all know how these last few years have gone.
We can sit here and cherry-pick incidents back and forth on our leaders, or powerful people that are empathetic, or at least when the camera is on. Rev Al is as classic as they come, but it seems to always favor him financially. Isn’t that ironic?

Some progressive liberals, with you being some of them, act like empathy is exclusive to them. You predetermine what constitutes as empathy. In the context of this particular conversation, you act like I can't empathize with someone who is struggling with debt at the same time as acknowledging that they are making bad financial decisions that are contributing to their struggles. I have a buddy who used to work for the movie studios. He made over $150k/yr and spent money like he was a millionaire. The movie industry dropped here and he lost his job and had to go back to framing houses for a lot less money. I had empathy for him when he had to sell his truck and his boat, but I also didn't feel that bad for him because he was irresponsible with his money.
So what's the difference between forgiving student loans when people don't start careers that will pay them off and forgiving personal loans for people who over spend based on non reliable incomes? Is that next?

I haven’t seen the movie, but I agree that human trafficking is disgusting as well. Pushing this alphabet soup on children is as well., I’m a retired teacher/coach and still teach Driver Education. A student told me Saturday that she thought about two thirds of her classmates were weirdo’s and into the LGBTQ and furry stuff. She told me her aunt has two boys, one 4 and the other 7. She makes them wear dresses. I said that’s TMI, she just laughed. You can’t tell me the schools and media aren’t pushing this on our kids.
