Other games today. Goldwire’s airball

Gonzaga goes down. Send them east to be our 2 seed.

I have been a Zags homer but no way in hell they should be a one seed and stay out west.

I mean, I think we know will have a new number one on Monday...who will it be though? Obviously, Duke isn't being valued highly by Lunardi and the committee. So it looks like Kansas, Purdue, Zags, and Baylor are their one seeds. So who the hell knows what the top ten looks like on Monday? Rankings clearly don't matter as much to the committee as the eye test does.

The way things been, it could change in couple days. On Monday Baylor goes to Texas and Perdue plays at Wisconsin on Tuesday. Chance one could lose and knock them off the 1 seed. We just have to handle our business.

Gonzaga lost to St. Mary's by double digits. I'm sorry but no one seed.
St. Mary's is a top 25 team that probably moves up from a #8 seed to a #6 or #7 after tonight's win over the Zags. Zags have no bad losses. They're top tier in the NET and Kenpom. The only way the Zags don't get a one seed is losing in the WCC tournament.

I see Duke is ranked 12th in the NET and 5th in KenPom. Of course the NET rankings haven't been updated yet. The committee looks at this. Duke would have to beat Pitt, Carolina, and win the ACC tournament to get a 1 seed at this point. I hope I am wrong and Duke is a top 3 team on Monday and is on the one line. But I just don't see it.

If Duke wins out they are a 1 seed. Easily.
No they aren’t . The issue is Duke has no one left or in the ACC tourney that is a good win. All the teams that went down will still play ranked teams in their conference tourney to help improve their resume Duke has not one team left that can do that . The only thing Duke can’t do is loose against Pitt or UNC to lock in their two seed.

Disagree, mostly because these other teams will likely lose again, minus Gonzaga. We know for a fact one of KU or Baylor has to, and Purdue and UK will have a ton of challenges. If we win out, I'd be pretty surprised if we aren't a one, but that's going to be challenge for sure. All the ACC teams are gunning for us as the only good win they can get. And I think you mean lose, not loose, but I agree on that. Can't take a loss in those games to be considered for a one seed.

I believe we will be 30-4 if we win out. Hard to see us not getting a one, down year for the ACC or not. If we lose a game we will be a 2. If we lose 2 we might be a 3.

We’ve won 6 in a row, with only 4 total losses. Yeah, some of the wins haven’t been pretty. If this team wins out, that would be a long winning streak, and I think too hard to ignore by the committee as a 1 seed.
Down conference or not. Gonzaga has received the same treatment in years past.
I think we would be a 1 in the East.

Good points. And it's not like others don't also have ugly wins. Auburn, for one, beat Missouri by 1 and Georgia by 2. For the year those teams have 8 and 6 wins respectively. Much worse than any of our close wins

It's hard to beat a good team twice. I'd be nervous about a rematch with Kentucky. Not saying we can't beat them. Heartbreaking loss for Virginia at the buzzer, and probably torpedoes their tournament hopes. Virginia hit a shot with 1 second left to take the lead. Then FSU heaves a shot from beyond the 3 point line that goes in. Amazing.

If Duke wins out, they deserve a #1 Seed. Regardless, I suspect that Duke will be a 1 or 2 in the East. Other than Villanova and Providence, Duke is the only top team based in the East.

I also suspect that Duke will receive a favorable draw. It's human nature not to give a retiring legend an impossible path

I don't feel we deserve a 1 seed after 3 bad losses unless we win out at the ACC tournament which is a crap shoot.

I'm happy with a 2 seed in the East with Villanova being somewhere else.

University of Milwaukee and former Duke recruit, Patrick Baldwin, about to end the season. Losing in the first round of the Horizon Tournament. Baldwin only played in eleven games. His team is 10-22
