It’s finally time! This has been the slowest week of recent memory. Duke is currently a 5.5 point favorite over the coogs. According to Kenpom this is the 1 vs 2 matchup with Duke 1 overall and 1 in offense with Houston 1 in D. I expect a war and I expect a win. I don’t think Houston will be able to score quite enough to beat us

Duke-72
Houston-60

Same defensive execution as against Alabama and make a higher percentage of layups and I think we're good. That, and limit turnovers. I think Duke surprises people. Though it shouldn't be surprising.

Houston is always a physical, veteran group. I think they throw everything at Coop and Robert’s makes his day tough. Feels like a game someone gets hot from three.

Duke 70
Houston 64

Take care of the ball and rebound. I’ve seen that they’re not a good FT shooting team, so that favors us. It will be a battle between two good defensive teams, but our offense is much better than theirs!

Duke 79-69.
Houston is far from a bad FT shooting team. Even though Duke is better, I wouldn't hang my hat on them not making theirs.

Their bigs... Roberts, Tugler and. Francis are all in the mid 50% range shooting free throws. Their guards are really good free throw shooters. That being said, foul their bigs hard to prevent them from making a basket and possibly a 3 point play.

I’m on the Duke train. I think Houston makes it a tight first half and might even get up 8-10 points early, but we close the gap at the end of the first and come out rolling in the second and take away their confidence. I think we will get some good bench production on both ends. Brown, Gillis, Evans and Foster will be key. Our starters are bigger and better. We are just too talented deep into our bench. We will wear them down.

Duke 84
Houston 71

We will have to shoot well overall...they rebound and are tough on the interior...we can limit their scoring i think. Houston is an experienced team so can grind out games...but i think we have more talent...going to be a close one

Thank you for not calling me iolivia 😂my last name is Oliva , so frustrating being labeled an Olivia at times

Hell yeah man I’m 2 hours from San Antonio now! Anyone meeting up?
I assumed you were a dyslexic female.
I read an article on Brown. He feels better, although the shoulder is still bothering him and should be ready for more minutes.

How do these guys fair for us?

Not that familiar with our group but we don’t need Ayers and his theatrical charge calls anywhere near a Duke FF game if we want our tvs to last the night. It’s almost always a bad sign when a ref becomes famous. Either they’re camera whores like Ayers or just bad like Cassell

The refs won’t decide this game. Duke will! All four of these teams are strong and any one of them can win it all. But if we execute on offense and play defense like we have all year we are dancing Monday night.

Houston’s a hell of a team. But I just don’t think we are going home tonight.

Call me the opposite of bleed!! Our guys got this!!

Like everyone else, I'm super nervous. Sweating already. Tough Semi. And probably even tougher Final if we get there. One of the most talented FFs I've seen.

I do think how the game is officiated could have an impact. Not the only issue. But I think it can make a difference. It always has. Like 2004 (we had that semis game untli they called cheap fouls and fouled our centers out).

We have to play great D, be strong with the ball on offense, not get in foul trouble, shoot 3s well, and rebound.

Although their bigs are 6'8, a couple of them have wingspans over 7 ft. It will be interesting to see if our lobs to Khaman will be as effectve as against Houston as they were against Alabama. I hope so.

If they’re able to bump and or hold Mal on those pick and rolls that could be a huge factor.
