This one kind of snuck up on me, glad I checked the schedule this morning haha

📍 vegas
📺 ACCN
⏰ 7:00

Seattle is 2-4 on the year without any note worthy wins.

I don’t expect any groundbreaking results tonight, duke is the overwhelming favorite as they should be

Duke- 101
Seattle- 62

We didn't have much turn around time between Vegas and today so I'm hoping we see alot of big Pat, Harris and Evans. We can't run Proctor, Coop and Kon into the ground. Hoping to see no more than 20-25 minutes from them.

Let's go Duke

So this is still confusing. It says on ESPN “Terry’s Chocolate Vegas Challenge” but the Duke site it says it’s in Cameron. Guess it is a typo on ESPN? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah I went off of espn so it might be at Cameron idk!

Arizona about to lose to West Virginia. Which would give them a losing record. That kind of stinks because it's our best win. Wow tie game with 14 seconds left.
Overtime.
WV by 6.

The only way the win against Arizona would be meaningless is if they do not make the tournament. I’ll be very surprised if Arizona doesn’t make the ncaa tournament.

They usually do, but this drops them to 3-4. And they are in the Big 10 now, so a tougher schedule.

North Carolina's frontcourt is very weak, and that Cade guy is barely playing now. Hard to believe they didn't get a portal 5.

Take care of business tonight. Work out a few kinks and be better when Auburn comes to town.

Would love to hear Jon’s reason why Kon, Cooper and Proctor are logging such heavy minutes this early, and why Evans and Harris are playing so little.
It would be nice if they would ask some meaningful questions after games.

Evan’s is showing why he hasn’t played . Duke is up but it’s still a two man show . Big Pat needs a couple more minutes .

Sloppy half, but that’s no surprise. Evans looked a little lost at first, but as he played, he seemed to get slightly more comfortable. He can shoot it.
Unless something changes, Gillis may be working his way to little pt.

Box score.
Mal 4 Cooper 9 points, Proctor 9 points, Kon 9 points, Evans 3, Foster 3, Sion 2 points.

I've been disappointed in Gillis so far. One red flag was he only scored 25 points in the tournament, which was 6 games for Purdue. Maybe a little overrated. Evans played 8 minutes and Pat played 4, that is good. If Gillis is out of the rotation it just makes us younger.

These games are opportunities to work on our strategy on each end...at the moment it looks like a YMCA pick up game where one team knows its way better and is just freestyling - if JS doesnt inject some thought into the second half its a wasted opportunity

Don’t agree. I think the players are playing way too tight . With Foster still starting Duke looks timid . Duke is up but still missing way too many open shots .

I don’t care if they’re young or old, just play your best players the most. I think Evans can give us a scoring punch off the bench.

I agree with dukesince91. Have to play the players who are giving Duke productive minutes. At the moment Gillis and Foster are giving Duke not very many productive minutes. I still believe in those two players, but at the moment they need less minutes and some of the others (Evans and Ngongba) need more minutes.

Evan’s got minutes and only hit one three and didn’t do much else .

I don't know if I've ever seen a team that was so 3 ball happy.
But yall said Duke was a one seed . This team has yet to put it together. Duke will shoot three’s because or roster says they have shooters.

it's too early to write off this Duke team. They still have opportunities for signature wins against Auburn, Unc x2, Illinois, and the ACC Tournament. They will continue to improve and develop. They've lost two games in neutral sites to a couple ranked teams.

If they don't fix their issues by mid February then I would start to panic.

Week 4 of the season starts on Monday for perspective.

I'm not writing them off. I just don't think they are a great team. They could become one, but right now there are issues.

Yes but from a pure scoring perspective, who else off the bench gives us some juice? The minutes are there for Evan’s if he can hit two or three 3s a game, which he can.
But he hasn’t showed it yet . I don’t believe he’s the answer. He gives scoring and a nice dunk but this Duke team has got to hit shots. Nice dunk but he missed both his three’s

I hope many on here weren't expecting Duke to be a juggernaut right out of the gate. Even Duke's latest National Championship Teams were not juggernauts out of the gate.

2010 - Got blown out at NC State and against Georgetown in the regular season

2015 - Got blown out by NC State and Miami in back to back games in January

Have to give teams opportunities to grow, that's what makes the season fun.
