Who at this time of year really care what CBS , ESPN , FOX, AP, UPI, Coaches poll or even guru gary -7 thinks about #1-10. Well maybe guru gary - 7 because he is guru gary -7. This team like every Duke team has a shot at winning it all. How many times in the say last 30 years has the pre-season #1 team won it all? How many times have we been #1 pre-season. It only means that you are only #1 until you get beat and you will get beat. I would much rather be ranked # 1 only one week, the last week than go 39-0 and end up 39-1. OFC

UNC at #4 is much, much more believable than UVA at #7. I get the whole Tony Bennett is a great coach - and maybe the ranking is more out of respect. But, come on. That roster is okay, but there's nothing special about it. I think UVA will be a contender next year once they have Sam Hauser and more guards at their disposal, but this year will be a struggle.

Bennett typically likes to play 3 guards and he literally only has 4 guards on his team. He's got Kihei Clark, Kody Stattmann (played 73 minutes), a JUCO transfer, and a 4-star recruit. Maybe he'll let Braxton Key play at the 3 a little. That might improve their odds. UVA has a nice front line, but the backcourt is lacking in depth and talent, IMO.
