I’ve seen and heard a lot of people say this. My question is why is it a sore eye? It’s an isolated incident and the sore eye is on the two programs that were involved. It’s not like this is some systemic problem in college hoops. Maybe the sore eye should be on the punishments that were handed out for De Sousa and McCormack. The former should be out all year and the latter should be at minimum 5 games. This situation left a sore eye on College Basketball.

I get what you’re saying, i think the hardest hit in this will be those casual fans that refuse to watch KU or KSU now.For you and I it’s not a sore eye....for casual basketball fans, it is. For one, it feeds into certain cultural narratives. Second, it gives everyday fans another reason not to watch.
For us college diehards...we know better. But for a sector of fans looking for another angle, this is certainly a black eye.
