May we remember the many brave troops who gave it all on that beach in Normandy. Most of them had to know their fate. How brave can that be. The start of the end for Hitler and his evil empire. Our greatest generation. OFC

Oh my, I am so glad, Sky, that you remember these unforgettable dates.

My father was in London at the time. He told me he knew something big was coming because of all the boats in the harbors. He didn't know when or where and he was a First Sergeant. It was an amazing feat that they pulled off.
And so many brave men and women. I knew a guy who was one of the Rangers who parachuted behind enemy lines. I asked him how he could do it. He said whatever would shorten the War, they would do. An amazing man.

I hope lots of other people have stories like this as well. It's living history.

The ones of The Greatest Gen that are left. It must break their hearts to see how soft and whiny this nation has become

My great uncle said that when his unit first landed in Europe one day the chaplain went around asking who wanted a small pocket sized bible. There were a few takers but mostly he was ridiculed. A couple weeks into the war he tried again and no one laughed this time. He couldn’t keep enough on hand. No atheists in foxholes.

I still have my dads small , actually new testament. It has a form letter from FDR in the front of it. He kept it all through the war. He came back on a hospital ship.
