Yeah he decided to do Infantry when he joined the Army. He’s been at Fort Benning since the end of October but has only been in basic training for about 3 weeks because he was stuck in Reception for so long because of how many people they had join recently and got sent to Fort Benning for basic training.
I was just watching the top 5 plays video from the game and I saw something in the video that I don’t remember seeing the game. After Joey Baker made one of his 3’s as he was walking past Coach K they high five’d each other. It was the top play and they showed all of Joey’s 3 and it was after the second made 3 that he and Coach K high five’d each other.
See, proper high 5's lead to incredible results.
Ok let’s be fair guys. Remember UNX had to play wofford without their starting point guard........oh wait.
43 bench points,i know Baker had half of them,but nice to see all the guys getting a chance to contribute
he may need to start in and work his way out....his driving pull up sems to be on most of the time
Couldn’t watch but saw Javin played 17 minutes, 5 points (only took 1 shot) with 3 assists and 6 boards... With NO Fouls... is he starting to turn the corner a little... feel like he’s fouling a lot less!
You'll never bemoan K from collecting as much talent as possible, but the pieces seem to fit so well on this team compared to the last two. And JG has really turned into a nice guard. D has always been there, but he can really finish at the rim. Really enjoying this team.
Things that stood out to me:
1. No one played more than 28 minutes
2. Baker 22 points in 18 minutes off 11 shots (shooting 83% from 3pt and FT combined)
3. Baby Admiral 3 blocks in 5 minutes (or 22 blocks per 36min lol)
4. Cassius doesn't seem to have his "niche" since he came back from injury--can't explain it, he looks healthy.
5. AOC, one day, is going to start hitting and then things are going to get scary
6. Goldwire is such a solid backup (8 pts on 100% shooting, 5 assists, 3 boards, and a steal)
7. I freakin love this team

The one thing so far with this team, is to not get too high or too low on everyone but Tre. Since K is playing so many guys, they keep getting chances. Alex started out cold, ended up hitting his last few shots. If some on here were coaching, he wouldn’t have played anymore after his cold start. At one point in the game we missed 10 straight 3’s. Then Baker went off. Oh and Vernon had a ‘quiet’ 20/10 night.
A great defensive effort. Not bad at all after such a long break in between games.
Personally, I think K is better this season than he has been in a few years. Not that he’s ever bad.

Joey's jumper is just so damn pure. His confidence is sky-high right now, too.
The best news of the night was K's comments in the post-game presser when he said Tre would have played had this been an ACC game. The last thing we needed was any kind of extended absence. Glad it was just precautionary.

I love the way the team is moving the ball and finding the open man more this year instead of the isolation plays from the past few years!
Joey had one 3-ball (I think it was his second) that I swear didn't even hit the net. Just the bottom of the rim straight through the hole. Pure gold.
This team has already shown improvement in this young season. They've bounced back so well since that brutal loss. Very pleased with what I am seeing and where this team is at right now.
When I saw Joey play on the Duke Canada tour I thought he would be really good, possibly All-ACC, as an upperclassmen. He's tracking very nicely to be just that.

Great win! The team looked very good to say Tre didn’t play. I hope this games gives K the confidence to throw Goldwire out there for minutes as the point guard to get Tre rest. No need in playing him 38 mpg when you have a quality back up. Goldwire played the perfect game statistically tonight. He made all of his shots and had no turnovers with 5 assists. Everybody played pretty good today. Joey was the MVP. He is going to be deadly next year. I can see it already. His senior year he might be JJ 2.0.

That’s the definition of “playing within yourself.” What an interesting human being Jav is.
What I love is the players on this team are figuring out their role on the team.. when they are in the Game no one is really pressing and they are letting the game come to the them
My birthday was yesterday, but if we doubled my age for the Duke score it would they'd have scored 63 points . . . each half. OFC
