I still am. Was a fun game for me, and oh btw 118-84.
Hell of an effort by SFA...not so much our guys. Carey not in the game that last possession is just ****ing mind blowing.
Perplexed at the lack of adjustments made all night. We didnt try to change the pace of the game to a half court, we didnt really change defensively....all night it was the same, with the same result...thats the part that is troubling. The tenacious D was missing as was any cohesion on offense. Didnt we learn anything since the start of the year?
We played poorly (captain obvious) and they played well and deserved to win but......they did get away with a double dribble on the winning play. Dude dribbled with his left hand then picked it up with two, then dribbled again. Obvious if you re watch. Just sayin.
This one really sucks. Didn’t once think we’d lose until about .4 seconds on the clock. Mind boggling stats are free throws and field goals. SFA shot 20 more FG than we did despite us winning the rebound battle (not by as much as we probably should have) and 24/40 from the free throw line (factor in the missed front ends of 1&1s and that’s probably closer to 24/50). I would say this feels like a team we could see in the tournament and it’s good to get tested but losing the streak at home really hurts.
8 of them from Tre..this team goes as he goes in terms of decision making and tonight was unquestionably his worst collegiate game. I don’t think K did him any favors either..just poor all around tonight unfortunately.
Hate to say it but I did say to temper expectations after the KU game. Our defense isn’t legit like many of you thought. Pair that with a mediocre offense and you get a sweet 16:elit 8 exit. Honestly, it’s who we’ve become. We recruit stars, not players. It’s sad but it is what it is.
I understand letting them figure it out on their own...etc..but damn...a time out with 15 seconds left woulda been nice
The only one hustling back on that last play was The Senior Captain, Jack White. Jones, Stanley, Hurt, and Moore just jogging back nonchalantaly
Tre was terrible. Had a double double but he turned it over so much and took so many bad shots. And they had like 5 players who had 5 fouls at the 8 minute mark and only one fouls out!! How are we not attacking that??? One main discussion has been about who is our go to guy. Tonight we didn’t have one. I think we wanted it to be Vern but nobody could get him the ball. That was the worse duke game I’ve watched. Hated every second of it outside of the first 8 minutes.
Criticism is definitely warranted after tonight, however some people seem to be throwing in the towel already.
This team has a ton of room to grow and, as bad we were tonight, the rest of the country hasn’t looked that great either so, we’ll be alright by seasons end.
Its Thanksgiving week...way more than this game to focus on...it sucks but count your blessings.
Give me good four year players over really good one and dones any day.
I knew Tre would turn it over or shoot a foolish shot and he did both what seems like several times near the end. Just a bad game all around for our guys and Coach K. At least we don’t have to worry about getting our 1st loss of the season anymore. Hats off to SFA, they deserved the win as much as we deserved the loss.
Just imagine...having even half the turn overs...and making a few more free throws...just saying
SFA played great, didn’t back down what so ever. They deserved it! BUT. That last possession is awful. How can you get the last shot in a tie game, with a TIMEOUT, and you let them go the length of the floor and get a layup. Woof.

This post makes sense and shouldn’t be allowed. But seriously, I agree with pretty much everything you said. Many of our fans live in a bubble. When we win no one can touch us, and when we lose we’re an embarrassment.
Here’s the bottom line....this team isn’t outstanding right now. They weren’t prior to tonight and they won’t be tomorrow. There’s weaknesses with this group. That doesn’t mean the end for Duke basketball, though. Just means a frustrating evening.
Learn from it and move on. The non conference streak is over, this loss will be the headline for the next 2 weeks. I'm still holding my head high. They got us tonight. Move on to the next one. One thing for sure, I bet they are woke now!

End of games and end of halves have been a mess the last few years...we dont seem to be organized on the last play if we have the ball and we have been fortunate ( up to now) to survive some open layups that would have been a loss. Not sure why they are not better at execution in these scenarios
Yes you are right. It’s just a game played by mostly teenagers and coached by millionaires.
Our defense is damn good. SFA simply made 10 metric tons of contested shots tonight. Seriously, every single one of their shots was with one or more hands in their face, they were simply dropping. Not much you can do about that.
The concerning part is having Tre looking like he’s regressed when it comes to taking care of the ball and making smart plays. He needs to bring it back down a notch, whole team does really, and play for the best shot every trip down the floor.
Welp, that didn't go the way I wanted. Regroup and come back stronger next game. Congrats to SFA. They played their butts off.
I know most of you are hitting the bail button, but I look at this game as one that won’t happen again this season. I KNOW no team the rest of this season will put that much effort into beating us. Those kids literally played their guts out every play. They deserved it. I feel good for them, they’ll always have that game. It won’t hurt us at all. In fact, it definitely helped. #1 right now means zilch. We still have a really great team here, I hate a lot of you will bash them now, but hey, we will recover. I still love this team. Good things ahead.
in the NCAA we were fortunate to advance a couple of times when our opponents missed open ups though...and RJ was 0-3 i think in end game situations. Just seems like a trend the past few seasons. But agree that youth plays a large part as does coaching to put players in the situation to succeed.
