I think the pace of the game was probably just as big of a problem. From a strategic perspective, Coach K probably made a bit of a mistake by not telling the guys to slow the tempo down and make it more of a possession-by-possession game. UNC struggles in half court settings, but loves transition and has the depth to play an extremely fast-paced game (+ is used to playing very fast). UVA, in an average game, takes less than 50 shots a night. In the game against NC State, for instance, UNC took 55 shots. Against Duke, UNC took 83 shots. And I agree about the UNC game....but I think that had a lot to do with the hype that goes into it. After that game our guys were mentally and physically shot. I don't blame them.
