Cars, guns and BBQ thread

What got you into knives? Pretty interesting to be honest.
I grew up going to this place called White Lake here in North Carolina. My family has been going there on and off since I was about 14 years old, so we’ve been going there on and off for almost 30 years. They have an arcade there called the Pavilion where you win tickets from games like most arcades but back then you won tokens and also back then no one cared if kids had pocket knives and at the arcade at White Lake back then they had pocket knives as prizes that you could trade your tokens in for. That’s what got me started but other than the pocket knives that I got from the arcade when I was a kid, I would buy a pocket knife here and there but I never really bought too many knives for a long time but over the last 3-5 years or so when I started going to gun and knife shows, that’s what got me hooked on collecting knives and now that I’ve gotten hooked, it’s basically turned into an addiction because over the last 12-14 months, I’ve either been given as gifts or bought roughly around 15-20 knives at least.

Wow, that's awesome. That's usually how our hobbies began and just continue to grow as we do.

The wife told me to practice on this grill she found me. I felt some kind of way about it lol.

Yep, I went from having maybe around a dozen or so knives that I got from the arcade at White Lake to having between 60-70 knives, most of which I’ve been given or bought over the last 3-5 years or so. So far this year I’ve added 7 knives to my collection and it’s only mid March and there’s still at least 3 gun and knife shows coming up this year at the fair grounds in Raleigh and those are just the Dixie Gun and Knife Show which is the one I usually go to but they also have other gun and knife shows at the fair grounds in Raleigh. The Dixie Gun and Knife Show also has several shows in Charlotte and Lumberton but I’ve never been to the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in either of those cities.

Man, that's something else right there. Do you doing any manipulation with them or just for your own personal show as collection pieces?

Being from North Carolina I miss the barbecue from Wilson and Lexington… So good… Atlanta had some really good barbecue to but I can attest for a fact there’s not very much good barbecue in South Florida unfortunately.

Anybody ever get to Cocoa Beach in FL? There's a place called Slow and Low BBQ that's awesome. I make my folks bring me a few jars of sauce every time they go down.

For some reason, I've never been a huge BBQ fan and that's strange being from the south. Everybody was talking about the best BBQ joint here in Atlanta called the Bullpen. Finally went and it wasn't anything to call home about that's for sure.

Love seat console in the living room

Night stand in the bedroom

Truck console

And this one stays in my golf bag

I keep a PMR30 in the console, it’s always nice to have a super light handgun you can pull out and get off 30 rounds with quickly if needed.

Kansas BBQ or Carolina BBQ??

Probably more KC than Carolina in this instance. I also like when the pizza has the red sauce and the BBQ sauce rather than just the BBQ sauce. That's the Italian in me.

I don't think I've ever had a BBQ chicken pizza with Carolina BBQ.

Went over to BBQ center in Lexington yesterday. I still like theirs better than any other in Lexington , or anywhere else for that matter. I do BBQ ribs here at home on my pellet smoker, but , for plain old BBQ , give me BBQ center.
