Brown’s status

What I know about Baylor is they start 4 perimeter players and Norchad.

Baylor has 5 guys who shoot the 3 well.

My guess is Coach Scheyer is going to make it a point of emphasis to shut down the 3 point shot and force Baylor to try and score inside the paint

Just did more research. Baylor starts 4 guards and Omier (6’7’’). The 2 primary guys off the bench are Roach and Nunn (2 more guards). Omier and Celestine are their tallest guys in the rotation at 6’7’’.

Guard play is going to have to be really sound from here on out. And improve. if we keep winning.

We have to be strong with the ball and sound on defense at the perimeter. And hit open catch and shoot 3s. Guards are going to have to step up on D, use length and strength. And attack them inside and as always we must hit a decent amount and good percentage of threes.

No doubt, any single game could be a problem, especially if we go cold from 3 we can be in significant trouble. Just like the ACC first half against Ga Tech. But hopefully our defense will hold them from being explosive and our offense can attack them well.

This has been such a fun team to watch, and I just want to see them go the distance. I've always been nervous about games but it is way worse now.
I won't call out any other teams, but there've been some season-ending losses since 2015 that have felt a little like mercy killings. Like, I wanted them to win, of course, but either their ceiling was obviously lower or they had been frustrating in some way. A few other season-ending losses have been far more devastating, for a variety of reasons. Admittedly, this one would be among the latter, based on how great we know they could be.

Yeah, we have experienced some serious heartbreak since 2015: the Grayson rollout, Zion's team going out in the EE, and K's final two games against UNC, just to name a few. Ten years is too long for this program not to raise a banner.

UConn has 4 to our 1 since after 2010.

We have had longer FF droughts. Since K's 1st in 1986, the longest drought was a tie between 2015-2022 (minus 2020) and 2004-2010.

And he’s not even 6’7. Grant was calling the first game and said he’s about 6’5. They lost their really good big man last month.

Dukes size is a HUGE problem for Baylor, 1-5, especially at the 4 and 5 spot.
