Has he been ruled out for the year or is there a possibility he plays again with a final 4 run? He makes the defense versatile against any team if available. Pat has improved but having that 3rd big would be huge.

He is going to have to have surgery regardless so I’m not sure he can really do much additional damage. I think if you make the final four he plays

I’ve heard sweet 16 & yes, he can do more damage with recurrent dislocations. Def will need surgery after the season concludes.

I really think it will be the elite eight IF he was to return for minutes. I definitely know we won’t see him first two matchups . If he plays that’s just a chance for re-injuring the shoulder then he’s definitely done . If he hasn’t had surgery by then I think there is no way he will let Scheyer keep him on the bench with a NC in grasp .

Scheyer probably the last one to make decision. I think if we in final 4 he may see limited minutes.

Maybe a Boozer situation? Limited minutes in the second weekend if we are there and bigger minutes if we're lucky enough to make the final weekend.

I'd love to get Brown back for the Sweet 16/Elite 8. Ngongba put up some numbers during the ACC tournament, but it was clear that our defense falls off without him. Yeah he can block some shots, and he boxes out better than Maliq does, but the numbers say our defense is much worse with him. I know at one point in the UL game, we were -14 with Big Pat on the floor.

Jon has tried hiding him in a zone, but then we become a zone team and not an elite man to man team. He is really slow at hedging out and then getting all the way back into the paint. But he's a freshman who didn't play last year in HS due to injury, so this is sorta expected. He has amazing post moves offensively, so when he does play, he needs to score to be a net positive.

Alabama (if we see them) is the game we will REALLY need Brown. Just like UNC, they want to spread the floor and have a big switch out onto Sears, it's literally all they do. Brown could turn the water off against them and completely shut them down, he was made for a game like this.

You keep forgetting, this ain’t last year’s team. There’s a reason we’re favored by about 11 or 12 points.
Baylor is one of the most talented teams in the field and dealt with injuries all year. They're healthy now and were a preseason national title favorite. They pose a ton of problems for us. I want to win. But they have the horses to beat us.

Nothing I said wasn't true. They were a favorite coming into the year because of their talent. They also have a national title-winning coach. Tomorrow will be our toughest game of the year.
The same can be said for Kansas and look where they’re at right now. I just think we have too much fire power for them to stop.
Who is Norchad going to guard? I think our length will give him problems.

I disagree. Norchad is a problem.
No he’s not . You have Coop, Mal and Big Pat . It’s wright and Edgecomb Duke needs to worry about . One is a crafty guard and Edgecombe is a big guard .no matter your depth should Proctor and Kon go cold , then that’s what Duke needs to worry about .

I think they're all going to be problems. Baylor was a team I was so worried about and didn't want to see early. We definitely got the toughest second round opponent of the top 2 seeds.

Baylor will be a tough opponent and are talented Bleed.

Duke is also A Tough Team and Talented though. Norchad is still going to have to give up inches to all of our bigs (except for Gillis).

Duke just needs to box out and win the 50-50 balls. Baylor is Scrappy and crashes the offensive glass hard.

I’ll take the Experience, Defensive Prowness, and Talent of James, Proctor, Krupp, Foster, and Evans over the talent of Edgecomb and Wright

Imo at some point Duke’s depth is going to wear down Baylor tomorrow primarily Baylor’s front court.

Really liked Coach Scheyer using 9 guys yesterday early and keeping them Fresh. Also, enjoyed seeing Duke working on the oop plays regularly yesterday hopefully that’s the case again tomorrow.
